Of all the decks to catch strays from indirect Tearlament hits, why did it have to be my Ultra Athletes losing Foolish Burial Goods? Fucking hell, man. What did the funny futuristic sportsball chads ever do to deserve this? Plus these hits don't do much to nerf Tear Zero and actually hurt other variants like Branded Tears (which is what I was running) far worse, which is stupid.

It's not all bad though. Kagari and Tenki to 3 is nice, and Change Of Heart to 2 could be hilarious in going 2nd decks.

Tearlaments without the Ishizu cards would still be the best deck in MD right now (especially with the current Spright/Floo hits) but they wouldn't be so overpowered that they overcentralize the game and completely invalidate like 95% of decks.

Going into this season, I would have expected the other way around. But man, the Cardinals are just playing like crap.

Oh wow, Pulseman. That's one of Gamefreak's most famous non-Pokemon games and I've heard a lot of good things about it. I'll have to check that out once I eventually get around to renewing my NSO.

TL;DR version: The two teams worked together to fix the outcome of the best-of-3 series so the Sharks would win in 3 games, taking up as many games of Eric Bledsoe's suspension as possible in the process so he would be ready earlier in the next round. The league found out, the Sharks were kicked out of the playoffs, both teams were kicked out of the league for next season, and both teams' coaches and GM's are suspended for up to 5 years. Eric Blesdoe claims he had no involvement: "I was suspended and couldn't play fam stop acting weird."

I don't have a way to locally trade, so using trade evolutions like Alakazam or Machamp is off the table for me unless I feel like going out of my way to use the Mew Glitch to catch them, which I usually don't.

Ultra Athletes on my main account, Marincess (despite Blue Tang being hit to 1 for some reason) on my side account. True Dracos are a backup plan that I could easily put together on either account.

Yep, his title reign has already outlived its welcome. Drew at Clash in the Castle, Sami at Elimination Chamber, and Cody at Wrestlemania were all perfect times to end it on a high note, and now that they didn't pull the trigger on any of those, there's basically no one left who could believably take the titles from Roman. He's holding both world titles and the main event scene hostage, and he might do so for another whole year at this rate.

I did have another reason to play Green specifically though. In addition to doing the actual playthrough, I had the side goal of catching some Japanese Dittos so I could move them up to Bank/Home and use them for Masuda Method breeding in more recent games.

I've never heard of the first one you mentioned (I'll check him out later) but Jrose did back-to-back Oddish and Bellsprout solos last year and Bellsprout did really good. He used Growth boosting Mega Drain in his run though, which I didn't.

Pretty much. I don't like using moves below 90% accuracy unless I absolutely have to, and since Surf was an option, I didn't have to. EDIT: In case anyone wants to mention Blizzard, it had 90% accuracy in gen 1 (broken as shit lol) and was nerfed to 70% in gen 2.

Hard disagree. Roman in 2014-2018 was superman-pushed way harder and way faster than Cena ever was. Vince gave him main event after main event and even fed him The Undertaker at Wrestlemania and none of it ever got Roman over as a face. He got booed harder than Cena ever did too, to the point where fans even booed The Rock just for helping Roman and raising his hand at the 2015 Rumble.

Roman is only more tolerable in recent years because Vince had the sense to do with Roman what he never did with Cena, and that's turn him heel.

I do know if you evolve your pokemon before the pokedex with oak you never get a pokedex. So if you grind a ton in the grass outside you can be pokedexless.

Yep, that's one of the worst of the Japanese version glitches. It can straight-up softlock your game and force you to restart.

I never thought the mew glitch would work on green. For some reason I think of it as vastly different. I imagine missingno can be done as well then.

Pretty much any glitch that works in English R/B works in Japanese R/G too. The Japanese games also have their own unique glitches (none of which I used or experienced in this playthrough) that were fixed in the international releases.

It was my first time playing the JP-only Green version, and I actually ended up using a couple of Pokemon that I've rarely (or possibly even never) used in a playthrough before. Beyond what I have listed here, I also used the Mew Glitch to catch a Mew to use as my HM mule for Cut, Fly, and Flash, but aside from that I didn't use any other major glitches like item duplication or stuff like that. Here's the team I used:

Blastoise = Surf, Ice Beam, Strength, Withdraw
Clefable = Double-Edge, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave (I replaced Psychic with Blizzard before Lance in the E4)
Victreebel = Razor Leaf, Body Slam, Swords Dance, Sleep Powder
Ninetales = Flamethrower, Dig, Quick Attack, Confuse Ray
Dodrio = Drill Peck, Tri-Attack, Hyper Beam, Agility
Sandslash = Earthquake, Rock Slide, Slash, Sand-Attack

I can't remember a single time that I've ever used Victreebel or Dodrio in a playthrough before, so those two were both brand new for me. Holding off on evolving Weepinbell until level 38 (so it learned Razor Leaf) and Vulpix until level 35 (so it learned Flamethrower) was annoying for a bit, but it paid off in the end. Sandslash was added to the team really late in the game (as in, I literally caught it on the route leading to Victory Road) so I went through most of the game with only the first 5 Pokemon and my HM mule Mew at the bottom of my team.

Those with card knowledge, any N/R-rarity floodgates apart from Dimensional Fissure?

ASP and Summon Limit are considered, but both are both SRs so maybe there are another, cheaper options.

Most of the good generic floodgates are at least SR, and these are the few budget options I know of.

* Mind Drain (neither player can activate the effects of monsters in the hand)
* Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror (negate the effects of Dark monsters activate on the field or in the GY)
* Grave of the Super Ancient Organism (level 6 or higher special summoned monsters on the field can't attack or activate their effects)
* Fire Prison (non-Link monsters cannot attack, also has other stuff that almost never comes up)
* Summon Breaker (if the turn player successfully summons 3 monsters during main phase 1, it becomes the end phase)

There's also The Monarchs Erupt, which is 3 more copies of Skill Drain but it basically only works for Monarch and True Draco decks due to its extra conditions. True Dracos in general are a pretty solid control/stun deck and they're cheap to build too, but they lose to some of the same GY hate (like Shifter and Macro Cosmos) that people are using against the Tear Zero meta right now.

It's also canon that Louis (the guy sipping tea in the bottom-left panel of that comic) enjoys watching women spend quality time together. Not for perverted reasons, just because seeing them happy makes him happy too. He ships Chloe and Celine together (despite Chloe's efforts to ship him and Celine together) and he even has a personal skill where he takes less damage when 2+ female characters are near him.

Yeah, the Ishizu shufflers just fuck over so many decks. Tearlaments mill so much and so often that even the opponents using the shufflers against them often isn't enough to stop them, but they can easily use the shufflers to oppress most other decks outside of the mirror match. Tearlaments alone without the Ishizu cards would still be strong, but not unbearably, oppressively strong like they are now. Plus you take into account what lemur said back in post 359 about how Sprights and Floowandereeze are even weaker than they were at this point in the TCG/OCG (more banlist hits plus Sprights don't have later support like Sprind yet), and this Tear Zero meta is even worse than it was the past two times Konami put the players through it. Even down in Gold, like 80% of my games are against Tearlaments. It's just fucking awful.

The only "bright side" is that MD has more frequent banlist updates than the TCG/OCG do, so maybe this hellhole format will end quicker.

Copperhead's mistake was underestimating how quickly Ripperoni could turn, it was trying to drive around and hit Ripperoni on the side and Ripperoni just pivoted too fast and caught them flat-footed.

I agree, it seemed like Copperhead underestimated Ripperoni's maneuverability and that's what led to its defeat. A veteran team like Copperhead doesn't just make a simple driving error like that for no reason. Then the first hit shook their drive up and the fight was basically over from there.

Based on the scheduled fights left to happen, it's a safe bet that the last two main events of the regular season are Black Dragon vs. Riptide next week and Minotaur vs. Witch Doctor the week after. The only other fights that seem remotely main event worthy are Beta vs. Bloodsport (which may have main evented next week if it wasn't for all of the publicity Riptide has been getting) and Whiplash vs. defending champion Tantrum (which could have main evented most shows this season but probably not over Minotaur vs. Witch Doctor).

I honestly didn't care if they went with the DH in both leagues or the DH in neither league. Having the DH only in the AL like it was before was literally a competitive advantage for AL teams because NL pitchers were more likely to get injured due to also having to bat and run the bases. As long as it was the same in both leagues, either way was fine.

It's basically loading up the infield on one side to prevent "pull hitters" (AKA hitters who hit the ball a certain way a lot) from getting hits. Balls that would be singles through a "normal" infield would instead be caught for an easy groundout. Examples of these shifts from before the rule change:

The new rule change essentially bans these infield shifts by requiring all four infielders to stay on their side of the infield (1B and 2B on the right side of second base, 3B and SS on the left side) and requiring all infielders to line up on the infield dirt and not in the outfield grass.

@KFHEWUI Just a heads up, the 24-hour "no match results outside of spoiler tags" period isn't up yet. You're only about half an hour too early, but still.

Pretty much every single rule change MLB has done the past few years has been great IMO. The whole "extra innings start with a runner on second" rule is the only one that I would say could use some tweaking (like not starting until the 12th inning instead of right at the 10th) but even that rule is still far better than not having the rule at all. The pitch clock, the ban on infield shifts, the DH in both leagues, all excellent.

They can either watch on TV or online, or they can find a new thing to watch.

If this could be activated in response to an opponent's card being banished from anywhere (like from their GY) and not just the field, it might actually be a decent side-deck option against decks that rely on banishing and recycling cards from the banished zone like Floowandereeze or Branded. But the amount of decks that regularly banish and recycle cards from their own field is even smaller, and the only ones I can think of off the top of my head (Kozmos and Weather Painters) are nowhere near meta.

Not as awful as some of your other past ideas, but still not a good card.
