It was fun seeing an anime in the theater with booming sound. The movie isn't mind blowing but it's pretty fun. Some really pretty action scenes and just beautiful looking moments in the last quarter.

Honestly the last quarter of the movie is the best part imo. It makes me want another season right now

Actually I think this was the kicker for me. It was described late in the gameplay trailer, but once I was told "your Blades will be random" any interest I had just kinda deflated.

It wasn't the only thing, but it was a significant one.

Like, I really liked the idea of the setting in it being a twist on XB1's concept: instead of living on two dead giants, you lived on a bunch of big floating living things. Good concept, but then I started asking around about the story and folks are like eh.

You get rare blades like candy bruh. If you really dont like that though, you can play the prequel story which doesn't have that. You dont need to own XB2 to play it

I just put the game down years ago when I reached the Archipelago . I hate that I've left it unfinished for so long. I just couldn't get as into it as I did 1 and X. I 100% both of those games. I'm thinking that when I finally play xenoblade Chronicles 1 DE, I'll start 2 over from the beginning cause lord knows I don't remember how to play.

They got the actual artist of Mythra to redesign her and even put that redesign in Xenoblade 2 for fun. I assume Sakurai, being the SNK fanboy he is, wanted her in her classic look like everyone was in that stage

It just points to an unfortunate reality about the severe lack of black characters in general in video games. Especially as protagonists. Doesn't help that Smash is mostly Japanese IPs.

Anyone disappointed was massively outnumbered by those who wanted to see the most iconic JRPG villain in Smash. Xenoblade is somewhat popular nowadays so it makes sense that they would put in someone from its latest game. Sakurai even said he would've added someone into the launch version if it had come out sooner.

Final Fantasy has enough prestige for two mega popular characters to get in and be hype. It doesn't need to be just 1 character from an IP then move on

Why are they wasting time expanding franchises that already have representation in the game when they could be spending their resources adding entirely new franchises? The past 2 fighters have been way less interesting than it would have been to add 2 new franchises to the game instead.

Tbh I think Xenoblade 2 has a much more complex and interesting villain than anyone in the first game. 2, especially in the Torna dlc, goes over themes you never see in other Nintendo games. Zeke and Nia have pretty interesting stories/character arcs as well. I really think the story is just as good as 1's if not better.

Plus once you know why it's called Xenoblade 2, everything in the game is viewed in a different light.

Compared to the first, 2 is a far weaker game. At least imo. The voice acting is really bad, and the story just isn't that good.

The voice acting is fine for everyone who isn't Rex and sometimes Pyra/Mythra.

How similar is it to the first Xenoblade Chronicles actually?

Because I actually liked that game. Didnt care for X at all though.

A more expanded version of 1 in nearly every way. They made the combat crazier, made the world disconnected but all the sections are bigger with collectible stuff to find and fight. Personal sidequests with actual stories and cutscenes. Unless you really dislike the character design, you'll like that game.
