To be fair I have a relative who constantly gets pregnant by randoms and has her babies taken from her immediately because she's deemed mentally unfit to raise children. Provisions like this are presumably meant to prevent scenarios like that, where kids are just flooded into the adoption system for no reason.

Putting it bluntly: the NSA has the capability to access and document Americans' communications. They are not authorized to do this (unless said Americans are communicating with a foreign person under surveillance) and generally go to pretty significant efforts to avoid it. However, if a court is presented with evidence that it's in the nation's best interests to do so, they can be authorized to collect such information for a limited time, if the domestic surveillance parties (the FBI, primarily) are not able to.

Like if youre expecting a call from a doctor sometime within the next two weeks, will you answer all unknown calls within that window? or Do you like.. not answer any and wait and see if one calls back twice?

Doesn't really come up, I have most of the businesses, doctors, etc. that I use saved in my phone so I don't have to look them up? And if I get a missed call from a local number that might be important I'll call back, sure. But at least 50% of my incoming calls are bullshit spam. Having voicemail would just lead to more bullshit.

That would probably be the easiest option. Literally just make a new app that has all the stuff removed than awkwardly force it on every user. But taking away something people might like and insisting its for the best is a pretty Apple thing to do.

Apple's not doing anything, Discord is changing their app age rating from 17+ which can't be installed if parental filtering is on to 12+ which can, but can't have adult content in the app.

What took so long?

Seems like a gap in Apple's app content settings, I imagine they'll figure it out.
