I'd like for them to add:
- Free aim like in Samus Returns. Not sure about the whole parry system coming back, unless they make it more optional. (it kinda was, but it made the game harder if you didn't use it)
- Change the map system to show when items are acquired or not.
- Change the wall jump system to how it is in Metroid Zero Mission.
- A few added bosses. They don't have to be required, just surprise sub-bosses of the likes of that snake dragon thing or Crocomire.
- An added area or two, again to accomodate the new bosses and possibly new powerups.

Other than that it's kinda fine the way it is. I don't want them to change it and force a linear path, the fact you could sequence break it so hard and not break the game (so to speak) was amazing and I want to keep that. Also yeah, I'd want them to go for a 2.5D remake like Samus Returns. Needs to be on the Switch though so they can focus on much prettier environments.

early roster impressions (unordered within tiers, maybe missing a few in solid, like half the cast wasn't even ranked because this is about gauging "the best" early)

-this might be the first game since 64 where Yoshi is a high tier contender

-Pichu's actually good lol why

-Most Sm4sh high/top tiers are still good after tweaks

-Roy/Chrom really do appear to be good, but I expect "corrections" to happen and for them to eventually drop pretty rapidly

-Best heavy is either DK or Rool. Ridley has the most developmental potential out of any heavy (he has really good tools)

-Ness is doing better than "solid" right now but it's the same kind of stuff that happened early in sm4sh where he's good in advantage but really exploitable, and he'll start getting a lot worse like in sm4sh when people learn to exploit him harder

-peach is pretty scary but sword users will keep her in check

-I think Jr. is the worst character in the game at the moment

K. Rool should definitely be in "the best" category. He seems to not only be the best heavy, his kit is honestly ridiculous. He's not broken but he's damn good.

I just decided to try Bowser yesterday and holy shit he's fast. He was buffed a lot in Smash 4 but still relatively slow, here he's as fast as any other character and that's scary.

How big is the cast? Also is there any way to do four player vs with AI? I cant figure it out.

There's 70+ characters total. Can't remember the exact amount.

But yeah, on the character select screen there's like two icons on the far right with + and - symbols. You can use those to add or remove players.

They should've just stuck to single-player experiences. Bethesda, known for releasing glitchy and unstable games, makes an always-online multiplayer game? I always had a small feeling it would turn out to be a disaster.

Honestly they're reaching the bottom of the barrel when it comes to first-party additions, so making Smash a bigger impact with third-parties seems like a better conclusion.

I do still want Elma or Cross though. A Xenoblade X rep is literally all I want for first-party reps.

I think Switch Online is going to be a cool service in a year or so but it's got a ways to go. Still there's a couple of good solid retro games there already.

I haven't used the app since the trial. Did it have a rewind function? That would be a neat addition.

For one thing they need to stabilize matchmaking and stop tieing basic functions to the smartphone app and have it be native to the console.
