Though I guess Sonic was pretty cool and he has been in Nintendo games (Mario Sonic Olympics). But now it's a mess. --- David Mink. They just weren't interested in making Waluigi a playable character. Not everyone can be one and I'm sure they came up plenty of reasons why or why not a certain character just wouldn't work. Now what I wouldn't mind seeing is a Smash spin-off filled entirely with Mario characters. DS is a monster from somewhere in outerspace that took on Samus' appearance when it stole one of her suit upgrades, after ~~trashing the planet where she grew up, killing the Chozo and infecting lots of planets in the system.~~ It's the primary enemy of the prime trilogy and has a completely different set of abilities focusing on spread shots, intangibility, flight and self-replication. He's probably the only important human Mario character that isn't in the game in any form, unless he got a spirit. Waluigi at least is an assist trophy and Pauline is in New Donk City. E.
