It's really not that uncommon that Vegy mentions the ethnicity of a young lady when he posts a topic like this. Interestingly, no one seems to really mind that part when it's a white/hispanic/asian chick, but now that he posts a black chick people are suddenly all like "oh I guess there must be something racist about it because it's a black chick and Vegy specifically said so."

You know what, I'm starting to assume the people are react like that are actually the real closet racists, especially since according to them there must be a big deal about it when someone is black and is must be offensive somehow.

This sounds like someone outside looking in. I've grew up with second generation immigrants. When we were in elementary school, yeah some had real thick accents, but by middle school and high school you couldn't even tell.

That is possible. Whether accents were/are fluent or sound foreign with Asians I've met so far tends to vary. Personally I'm half-Indonesian, born and raised in the Netherlands, and I've always had a fluent Dutch accent, though this is not the case for all Indonesian people I've met, some of which I know were born in the Netherlands.

Although it could be perfectly possible and plausible for an Asian character to have an American accent, there actually are plenty of Asians who were born and raised in a non-Asian country, yet have an Asian accent. Usually this is due to them speaking their parents' language at home and/or in their local community.

Whether this is the case for Mei Ling is speculative, but I hope that this kind of stuff is not necessarily racist by default.
Honestly, I think for most characters who have an accent in MGS it adds flavour and character. One of the reasons I dislike the storytelling MGS4 and TTS is because everyone having a 'neutral' accent just makes it feel bland and not very plausible.

I love LoK. I grew up on it. Played all five of them all the way many times (I don't acknowledge the game Nosgoth as a canonical entry).
It basically sparked my interest in philosophy. I also really appreciate that it's amazing story didn't rely on a stereotypical good-vs-evil storytelling.

I'm actually rewatching ENT right now. Somehow I find myself enjoying it more than before. Maybe the fact that it's less eventful than the average DS9 and VOY episode and focuses more on "we're doing this stuff for the first time with no precedent, how do we solve this?" makes it more soothing to watch.
Also kinda reminds me of the series SeaQuest in that regard ('member SeaQuest? 'member Darwin? Oh, I loved Darwin! )

But you know that's probably just, like, my opinion, man.
Anyway, ENT seasons 3 & 4 are definitely much better and more exciting overall, so be sure to watch that. Also, season 3 encompasses a full-season storyline that starts with the final episode of season 2.

RE2MAKE tho. I couldnt have shat my pants playing the original. Its too primitive for me to get very scared by and I doubt CAPCOM couldve nailed the feel that well from scratch.

I shat my pants like a zillion times playing the original RE1. Of course I was a kid back then, probably too young to play those games, the music made for a lot scarier atmosphere and the primitive graphics made us use our imagination more (which ran wild in my case).

Kotor 1 comes off as being more esthetically romantic with a more classical storytelling, and there are clear good and evil choices.
Kotor 2 has much more philosophical depth to it and makes you consider the impact of your choices more, showing you that not everything is always black/white.

Both could be preferred for different reasons. I prefer Kotor 2.
