So far, I think The Expanse and Altered Carbon are the best scifi series this decade. They both have a mature, non-condescending atmosphere about them.
The Expanse in particular makes for an interesting concept in that it focuses on the societal ramifications of extraterrestrial colonization.

Only downside is that this series reuses a type of antagonist that has been overused this past decade (parasitical space bugs, specifically the kind that turns infected hosts into husk-looking creatures from Mass Effect).
Nothing I can't live with though. Still very much looking forward to season 3.

It's true that so far they've only cultivated mince and burgers, and you could hypothetically already cover a measurable lot of meat demand with that. Obviously it's not a substitute for literally every meat dish out there, but the fact that the technique exists is a big start already, and given time, it can lead to a wider variety of meat.

It's surely a significant chunk. It would certainly make sense to switch to artificial meat if that becomes a viable, eco-friendly solution, but screw not eating meat at all.

A few labs have actually successfully cultivated edible, genuine-tasting meat in recent years, grown from stem cells extracted from an animal that can still live a perfectly normal live afterwards.
The only setback is that, since it's considered a whole new kind of perishable food, it hasn't been approved for selling to consumers yet.

I hope it comes through soon, seeing as this 'cultured meat' is literally the perfect solution for everyone in this matter. Animals don't have to be bred to insanely large environment-damaging numbers, and meat eaters can literally have their burger and eat it too.

That's right, although they're easy to miss, as the radio beeping isn't very loud and can easily go unheard due to other sounds. The radio transmissions aren't crucial anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
