My brother married into a big family. I get that he gets really tired of going to a lot of family functions.. but on the flip side its really fun as well and people are more supportive of each other.

Also I want to say for myself personally.. I asked a coworker (different department) if she wanted it hang out over winter break. We went for a walk on new years eve. I had fun. She couldn't stay to eat out after because she had to pick up a friend from the airport. W/e. I Went on a tinder date the week after and thought it went okay, but it didn't work out. The week after that, I ask my coworker I've text if she wanted to go hiking during weekend and she said had friends over the weekend. She was just making excuses. The week after (Friday) I asked how how her week was, and she didn't respond back.

I stopped texting after. I mean I mind of did wished her happy Lunar new years, but I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for my birthday and felt like it. kind of say hi in the hallways (she does too), but I just don't go out of my way to anymore.

Shit like this happens. Sometimes it doesn't work out and feelings get hurt. But you need to get the hint early and not waste your time pursuing again if it doesn't work. And just be smooth about it. If she isn't in your department, by all means don't talk to her anymore. But if she is, you have no choice but work together to get something done. Just be professional and don't go beyond that.

Also, I admitted to liking an ex coworker from several jobs back, sometime after I left. guess what she did? She fucking told everyone. I found kit because other coworkers were teasing me about it, and they weren't even working there anymore either. I still managed to talk to her after online.

Be very careful with everything you do in regards to romance in the workplace. Your professional reputation is more important then it.
