Nobody on earth can beat America in a 1v1 conflict. It would take some combination of China/Iran/Russia to even have a shot and that's ignoring outside help for the U.S.

Russian troops are underpaid, underequipped, and under trained vs the standard us combat troup. This is not counting the sheer amount of equipment and resources available to the US military.

Also, the vast majority of the US military has actual combat experience, whereas most other armies are green.

In a conventional war with no nukes are used, there is not a single army in the world that can take the US army on.

Are we talking strictly from a fighting from/out of Ukraine scenario?

In that scenario, US could long term defend Ukraine basically indefinitely so long as the public support it.

A straight fight with all cards on the table just between US and Russia, no allies?

Russia doesn't have the naval power to invade the US so the war would strictly be in Russian/Ukrainian territory. So long as US has Alaska and can exert control over the Pacific, US can blockade the eastern half/majority of Russia and then focus efforts on the Western half.

But really it depends on what the goal is.

I'd say the capacty to fend off war fatigue is a lot higher on the US side. We have a much stronger economy, with the ability to ruin russia's economy with sanctions. The russian public will be screaming for them to end a war a lot sooner when they can't get basic necessitates for months on end, where the US public will be living more of a normal day to day.

I wouldn't say this necessarily.

We have deployment experience but a rather small amount of US troops have been in combat and most from the WoT have gotten out.

Except Afghanistan and Vietnam

What you're trying to say is no one can take on the US in a traditional war, which they still actually could

Imagine trying to invade the USA, though. Just imagine it. Imagine the amount of guns you'll have to contend with.

bruh, did you see how Russia performed in South Ossetia when they invaded Georgia? For beating up an ex-Soviet shithole with inferior equipment in every way they had huge, glaring issues with performance that Russia spent the next half decade desperately overhauling their forces.

I think people are really underestimating the advantage the US has in force projection over virtually every other country in the world.

In Afghanistan we were trying to nation build and fighting off the entire region. Vietnam we pulled out because the war wasn't worth fighting anymore. We had won every conflict and the tet offensive was actually a huge defeat for the vietcong. Americas were sick and tired of fighting a pointless war in Vietnam.

Russia wouldnt last a week before Putin is ousted and the new regime signs a peace treaty. I'd even say he wouldn't last a day.

They couldnt. The Taliban were removed from power really quickly when the US attacked because they had no capacity to fight a traditional war against the US. They took back the country from the US backed government as we continued to reduce the amount of support we were willing to provide.

Relatively weak groups can defeat the US by being decentralized and having a concrete goal while the US has no reason to remain. After a point, killing the enemy is a loss for the US because we have no real objectives to achieve and are basically just wasting bullets, fuel and other such things and getting killed is a loss because one of our people died.

For actual countries, in a non-nuclear war China is probably the only one that could get a win. Theyve focused heavily on defensive stuff that would cripple our typical means of force projection, their interests are close to China and they are a healthy world power.
