It is fairly different, and tackles a few different historical events, but I think the show does it in very much the Watchmen way. CyricZ posted... 3) Tangentially, and I admit Lindsay Ellis sowed this seed with recent tweets, but I hope they don't focus too much on the conspiracy of the Squid. I feel that revealing it to the wider world in 2019 when the perpetrators are dead or far removed is a narrative dead end. They're hyping it up as that universe's 9/11 (hell they even call it "Eleven Two") and it's gonna be weird to push the message of "the conspiracy was true" plus "the white supremacists (but we're totally not white supremacists anymore you guys) were right" and its parallel to our world. Well the squid killed like 3 million people and left countless millions more with extreme PTSD, it is waaaaaay bigger than 9/11. I am really excited to see where this goes, no idea what Lady Trieu/Will/Keene/7th Kavalry/Veidt are all planning here, the show has done a fantastic job of building mystery. I don't think the goal is just to expose the squid plan, or else Keene would have just released that video to the news stations. There isn't really a global threat either, like imminent nuclear holocaust in the original comic, so I have no idea what the final goal is. Also its kind of funny people were bashing the show for being too "woke" in the first couple episodes, now some people are worried the show is too kind to its "alt right" characters lol --- Hello world! |

Its an isolated fight and you can learn a lot by trying to kill the lynel. Try firing arrows at him, shoot him in the face some. Learn the timing for dodging. You can also parry attacks and get openings. You will get good rewards, too. Meh, its a lot more fun when you have better gear and you don't get one-shotted if you make a mistake, and you can actually kill the thing without breaking every single one of your weapons --- Hello world! |

I just don't want to play a pointlessly easy game. I have only played Gen 1 and have only played about 4 hours so far (haven't gotten to the first gym yet), but it seems there is a LOT of Exp to go around compared to Gen 1, which I kind of like, just gets rid of the endless grind to get new pokemon up to your party's level. Trainer battles have been really easy, but I think all the first battles in Gen 1 were easy too. The biggest problem might be it being so fun to go explore the Wild Region and battle all the Pokemon out there, that you quickly out level the rest of the game before continuing with the main story. I have already been steamrolled by 2 wild pokemon also, so its not that easy in the Wild Region. I agree with TC, I have really enjoyed the game so far, really brought back all the old memories of discovering all sorts of new Pokemon, I forgot what it was like when I didn't have the original 150 Pokemon memorized and was going around seeing all sorts of crazy ass ridiculous monsters. --- Hello world! |

| AngelsNAirwav3s 11/15/19 12:47:40 PM #8 | I haven't played a Pokemon game since Red/Yellow, but I beat those like 20 times. I am about 4 hours in, and really enjoying everything about the game. No idea if the animations are reused or not, but all the battles look great. I forgot how much I enjoyed Pokemon lol especially when I don't know anything about the new ones, seeing what random ass monster pops out in each area is awesome. It is really easy to get side tracked and just go explore and fight Pokemon. 4 hours in and still haven't even gotten to the first gym yet. My main problem now is that I just have too many cool Pokemon I want on my team, I wish we could have more than 6 at a time! Also not sure if I like the Exp Share or not, I remember having to grind a lot in Gen 1 to level up your Pokemon individually, and now your Pokemon get a LOT of experience, quick. Probably good they got rid of a lot of the monotonous grind, but I might have a super team for the rest of the game if I spend too much time exploring. Also, getting rid of the random encounters and being able to see what is in the grass is soooooooo much better --- Hello world! |

People being upset that there are only 400 Pokemon in this game need to grow up. I do see why people are mad about Game Freak's excuse though, they seemed to go out of there way and say "We had to cut some Pokemon because we can't create new animations and models for 600+ Pokemon for every generation," and then with this game they clearly used the same models as the 3DS games.
