So I had this dream the other night.

I was walking out of a mall, and I found out noms for a new Character Battle had already opened a few days ago. I thought: Oh, already? ('Cause we were then having 2 contests in the year...) Well, Allen did promise to do contests more often, so this is a nice surprise! Poor azuarc, though... He only lasted in our sigs for like 3 months!

Then I looked at a giant structure in which was a projection of the characters with most noms at the moment, and Cloud was at the top, with Link nowhere to be found, implying that Link was finally retired.

Oh, and @LeonhartFour was also there, floating in mid-air, for no apparent reason.

The only character I wasn't fond of in Episode IX was C3PO. The movie tried to pander older fans of the saga, and the character felt too archaic, cheesy and out of place imo. C3PO only works for the classic movies.

Just take a look at how badly Metal Gear has fallen in the last few contests due to Konami. Castlevania was in the same boat, and it's just barely getting back on its feet.

Konami and all that aside, we know that a series with no new games naturally loses strength.

Man, Pokmon has always been popular!

And Metroid is as... dormant (was almost gonna say "dead") as Castlevania and Mega Man (Mega Man 11 was kind of okay received, and IGA has just barely returned independently with Bloodstained, which is a game not many people know).

Yes, Metroid Prime 4 has been in development for a really long time now and Samus Returns wasn't that big of a deal, but I mean, the only "strong" Mega Man game now is MMX, and (sadly) no one in this site cares about anything Castlevania other than SotN.

tl;dr: Super Metroid and Metroid Prime > SotN and Mega Man 2/X

Man, stop talking about Star Wars here. I can't friggin' get over the fact that both the prequels and sequels trilogies are some of the most massively underrated things ever.

The original Star Wars trilogy is basically the Gen 1 of Pokmon -- massively loved (and rightfully so), but the later installments just made the franchise even better.
