I did a little digging. Seems there's few accounts of yasuke, but what there is is reference to him being given stipends and having the duty of carrying nobunagas swords. Both are samurai things specifically. Bit odd that there's not more history about him though.

I have seen all the following opinions:

I'm currently watching it and am enjoying it.

I expected a show where two bros travel across the country fighting supernatural stuff and that's pretty much what it is.

It's really good, but here's a weird feature

The actor who plays Sam somehow becomes a worse actor as time goes on, while the actor who plays dean becomes a better actor

Everything you listed applies to Buffy as well except Buffy stops being good after season 3

That was kind of my point but I also disagree in terms of severity. Buffy went down in quality generally speaking but it still had some of the greatest tv moments well into season 6. Hush - season 4. Once More with feeling - season 6. The body - season 5.

Yeah buffy started to kind of suck, but look at what we're comparing. 15 seasons compared to 7. Supernatural stopped having a plot anyone cared about at season 4.

Like it's sort of like if Buffy was written by a couple of frat bros

The writing, acting and direction isn't anywhere as good
It goes on way too long
It's best in the first 4 seasons
It becomes a weird comically twisted meta version of itself
The actors clearly gave up like after season 6 but stuck around for the paycheck and the fans
it doesn't even go on kicking and screaming for a couple of more seasons than it should, it goes on for like 10 more seasons than it should

It sort of just...keeps on going? I'm reminded of that How I met you Mother Skit where Marshall's car can only play one song and he explains that you end up hating it but it comes around again

That's what this show is like. It fucking sucks for like 4 straight seasons but somehow you keep watching and you end up liking it again, even though it never gets any better

I will say that athlean x does have very good advice for rehab/not hurting yourself, which makes sense because that's a big part of Jeff's background.

Sean is great in small doses and gives solid advice, but yeah. His full length videos fucking drag. He'll just repeat the same thing 10x. His shorts are dramatically better to watch.

I'm another big Renaissance Periodization fan. It's probably not that ideal for new lifters but intermediate to advanced stuff he has a lot of great advice. He also will evolve his views as new studies come out, which is nice.

For new lifters, it's essentially not much harder than very basic advice and not hurting yourself. This is unfortunately the largest portion of people looking for advice, so there's plenty of folks trying to take advantage of that

My problem with athlean X is that his entire content strategy is to terrify people. "17 reasons why you're going to injure yourself" and then it's like some variation on lateral raises. People aren't hurting themselves doing lateral raises with 10lbs, but athlean X has you believing that is exactly how people get hurt.

The thing is with a number of behavioral beliefs (any variant of I believe that people should do X or Y) to be put into practice, they need a community and society in agreement at large because there needs to be an incentive and accountability system to make sure people are motivated to do the right thing and not abuse their positions. Southern apparently built up her own community on her beliefs but the males it attracted were generally opportunists looking to capitalize on free labor. Then her husband took her out of her community to live in another country. There's no one to hold him accountable for his actions, no framework to look out for her like the commenter mentioned.
