I'm currently watching it and am enjoying it.

I expected a show where two bros travel across the country fighting supernatural stuff and that's pretty much what it is.

Did it actually get better, or did you just have stockholm syndrome?

No seasons 7 and 8 were rock bottom for the show. They spent the next several seasons slowly crawling out of that hole. By season 11, they lean into their meta cheese a little more and just having fun with it which seems to be a complaint of yours. Like in one episode, Dean kills Hitler. Reading that sounds insanely stupid but it's funny cause he spends the next couple episodes annoying bragging to Sam being like "Hey. Remember the other week when I killed Hitler? "

Then it became much more about Christian mythology because the writer changed hands.

I had enough after season 9. That's when I lost interest completely.

Yep that was where it happened. While there is real judeo-christian lore to back it up. Execution not so much. There are 2 highlights of that season. The jokes Dean makes about the villians name. And I believe a episode with the perspective of the car is in that season.

The car episode was actually genius.

I enjoyed it until angels and demons took over. I would be fine with it if the show actually had the budget to support a huge angel vs demons war. But nah, big bad angels still fight with kung fu

I was good till about season 10. After that the show got really bad and I just couldn't carry on. People shit on s6-8, but some of the best episodes of series are in those seasons.

That was mid way through season 10 or 11. First great episode in several seasons at that point and imo was when the show started getting a little of its groove back for the rest of the show.

I knew there was no way they were ever gonna be able to show some apocalyptic battle between Lucifer and Michael so it was kind of comical for them to keep typing it up like they did

I fell for the hyping up of angels as these super powerful forces, but man what a let down it was. They're like oh but their true form would be too much to comprehend, and by that they meant too much for their budget to comprehend lol

Its the problem when you put such powerful beings into a show that clearly does not have the funds to give them justice.

Jensen and Jared are 100% on board with another season, too, they just want to make sure it carries the same character as the original series and fits their work schedule.

Those first five seasons are some of the best tv of all time IMO

I do feel like they got screwed by being just popular enough to renew the show.

If you finished at season 5 before the cliffhanger thats a 10/10 ending

season 6 is odd. But then gets going when it reveals the big twist.

season 7 sucks

8-10 is kind of bad but the idea of closing the gates of heaven and hell is a really great place to end the series. But they do nothing with it. Demon. Dean is another great story. That becomes nothing.

then its a huge mixed bag for so long. I did like the Amaya season but the way it was implemented was average.

then season 14 really redeems the show and ends on one of the best setups you could end a show on.

and then 15 s***s the bed beyond belief. Seriously. Theh could have had a huge season fighting all the best villains from the shows history. They could have had a huge Multiversal Sam/Dean fight against God. Instead they spend most of the season saying Sam and Dean were always kind of the worst hunters of all time but god liked them. Then rather than postpone the finale a few months. They just film it with like 4 people not even bringing back main characters. F*** me watching that hurt
