go read any article from witnesses of a mass shooting, they all talk about how it's different than they imagined.

someone(whoever is the first to see the fake shooter) calls the alarm. And then everyone acts as if it was a real active shooter. and then it gets cleared when the cops/admins in charge conclude that the drill is finished.

I guess if it's middle school kids we're talking about they should probably be warned ahead of time, but this article was about high school kids and they should be prepared for an active shooter without 3+ hours notice. and once again, it should be at school, not on a field trip, and no one should be using anything that sounds like real gunshots.
