a veruy emotional vredits theme for a mario car game ha ha i like it. i forgot about it. this might be ironic to say with this match up but it actually reminds me of certain n64 treasure songs for some reason. funkfusionness of Toshiya Yamanaka & the more emotional side of non. but it is actually MARIO LOL

this one could've been against moiety theme from riven the sequel to myst but I felt that one fit better early in the contest so i had wild woods be the 5 timesig song against it instead (and there's no way i could place this anywhere but start of bracket d). which im glad about because I am glad I am able to vote for this (and not glad I am not able to vote for wild woodshmm. well I kind of doubt moiety theme will make it past r1---yes these advance votes are made far enough in advance that that match hasn't even happened yet in the time and space I currently reside in)

I could go on about everything I love in gue tech theme. it's actually a bit too overwhelming how much I love it, I'd gotten addicted to listening on loop for hours when I first heard it. it's got those nice plucky fm bell-like sequences filling the space with the magic element represented by electronics, the reversed chime, Saori Kobayashi esque subtle flourishes on the leads. so full and dense. I can just list every single detail because i love every single one of it. I also really love how quiet with high dynamic range the production is. it feels strangely 80s, with the loudest elements having incredibly impactful punch---along with that this is actually using 80s synths apparently according to Marks equipment listing somewhere, rare for the time to use some of the very expensive/ancient-even-then equipment he had. its just relentlessly mystical in every way.

wonderful flowing of dissonant tension in and out of more conventional functional harmony weaves. I could say that about a lot of the approach to shovel knight music. I respect it a lot.

As a note---the previous track facing league of legends was legit initially completely unintentional. i initially just placed it because it fit other bracket-balancing-needs parameters. but once i saw what i had done i absolutely had to keep it like this of course. similar to the shovel knight track actually, I appreciate the weaving between contrasting predictable functional classical harmony movement and stuff I find unexpected at other times. very fitting for the intent.

I never got a chance to play kudo tracks in rhythm gam3s , there are somexquite rhythmically wild moments such as abrupt tuplets. and yeah his usual roller coastery chord changes4shine. i like this guy heh.

this is a lot like certain 80s-90s stock music I like but more deliberate climactic context feeling, and i guess mixed with many clearly more modern production tendencies. incredibly to my tastes in instrumentation<->composition merge sense. I LOVE these rompler and fm mallet sounds and the exact chords & timing aaaaaah

this is an incredibly close match, maybe the closest so far? would be very happy with either here going far. savaged regime is brilliant at FM as usual. and the morphing timbres mesh well with the pseudo prog metal composition style he has. I really like some of the softer timbres this employs (like i know most of it is harsh but i am referring to the parts/layers that arent), which are not actually commonly approached even tho theyre among my fav sounds FM can make. he has always been brilliant at fm ever since the days when 8bitcollective still existed

this make me think of the rhythm game tracks that is called A by dj Amuro at parts of them

I honestly really love stereotypical sakuraba and can imagine myself voting this had i not placed it against predestined fate. he just has a cool set of chord motion tendencies and melodic style I identify with (on top of a prog influence tho that doesn't show much on this track)

it may be context influenced, but the empty feeling of this track relative to the rest of this ost always resonated with me really hard. it sold you're on your own now of the parts this plays, perfectly existing outside of the rest of time and space. it feels incredibly lonely which is something I seek very hard in music. very comfortably my favorite track in the game at this point

mmbn/starforce music makes me pretty happy, a series(s) I certainly hold much fondness for

Manabu NamikiKenichi Koyano is one of the most perfect collaborative mixes i can fathom, and this does a great job highlighting what I love about each. Megalomaniac is one of the most mentally stimulating Namiki tracks for me to begin with, but everything Koyano adds or interprets just brings out the complex post-tonal prog-adjacent vgm that obviously came out in the 90s that is one of the longest standing types of music I have always liked.

glitchy music that places a lot of emphasis on pitched/slowed down samples along with the low fidelity it enforces is something i certainly gravitate heavily toward. especially when done in a subtle, low energy way like this that doesn't call attention to its weirdness, it just basks in it because that is what it is.

when u sit in a lounge chair in the comfy sky scraper in the office city but are having a battle with the Dark Lord in your Mind at the simultaneous event time.

I should prinabaly give drakengard 3 another chance. I was annoyed at it when younger for not being as unhinged as 1 and even recently finding i preferred a lot about 2. but the aesthetic of this music has grown on me and i like most of what i hear a decent bit by now, especially any with these distorted vocals.

I think it was bebr who showed me this some time in the past year and it's been one of my favorite recent discoveries since. bizarrely tightly to my tastes and I'm not even sure hamauzu has anything remotely similar?

aggressive brass is pretty fun. overall teh Orchestral layer reminds me of many composers i really love.
