Also just to clarify a question that was never asked.

I only have 3 clients with the business I own despite my "over 10" figure and not having ever lost one directly. I make a good living but I'm not some huge IT empire.

That's because most of the transitions were done with my previous company and they didn't lose any clients I was involved with during my time there so yeah never been on the butt end of one. I've also helped transitions from one IT provider to the next being a "stopgap" IT but never actually directly doing IT for the client in question, just sort of contracted temporarily to help as a neutral party.

But I'm sure it'll happen someday.

I'm just saying if you're on good terms with him don't take it personally. It's very common. I expect if I lose any of my clients it'll go down the same way, even having had a similar working relationship with some of them as you have had, since doing it 'nicely' seems to be the more rare way.

I'm just talking time with a single client 2 years isn't very long. In the government sector 8 year contracts are somewhat standard for example.

Yeah but as an MSP I've replaced in house IT several times (I've helped replace someone who had worked there over 20 years once and they got the same treatment you did) and yeah it pretty much always happens this way.

It's kind of a double edged sword because the in house IT would have more reason to be communicated with due to a more personal link with the client, but they'd also have more reason to be bitter for the same reason I guess?

Again I'm just talking theory here-- I think it's silly too but I wouldn't consider it a personal slight in any case. Like as the MSP I've never made the decision to treat transitions like that (I would prefer to work with the existing IT to make the transition easier) it's always been the client saying to do it that way.

Also I would say 2 years is not a particularly long time in the field of IT for the record.

I would just be happy you got a raise and be proactive with interacting with the MSP that owns you now (THAT is the weirdest part of this story to me by the way-- never seen that done) so they reassign you instead of just laying you off.

Honestly that's pretty standard practice for IT company swap overs. Old IT being involved in the transition is minimized and often aren't actually directly informed it's going to happen until the new IT has already gotten in and changed a bunch of passwords if it's expected the existing IT provider will be bitter-- I'm guessing it's probably seen as a security risk and if the old IT is too involved then they might be able to still access things they shouldn't be able to after the transition is complete.

(I personally think it's silly because no IT provider cares enough about sticking it to their old employer to be sued, but I'm guessing that's the theory).

Source: Worked for an MSP and currently run my own IT business and every single IT provider transition (over 10) I've been involved in has been that way. Sudden and with minimal interaction with the old IT.

Yeah I believe Duel Masters had similar mechanics-- or rather at the bottom of each card had the amount of mana it gave in an upside down digit and sometimes that number would be 0

I mean it was pretty much always 1 but yeah some cards could have 0, or 2 or 3 with restrictions of some sort I believe. I don't remember the cards but yeah, the potential was at least there to change the value down there baked into the card design

There was another game by Wizards of the Coast called Duel Masters that had a really cool mana system where there was no land and every card in the game was overloaded to be able to be played as mana if you chose to play them upside down as your one mana play a turn. For instance you could instead of playing Lightning Bolt that does 3 damage to anything as an instant you could play it upside down and have it function as a mountain.

It was really neat. Game never really took off though.

Was also a fan of the Star Wars CCG that let each player start with mana in play and holding control of locations was used to do damage to your opponent and most locations had mana symbols for both sides of the board. And then Legend of the Five Rings was kinda cool because you'd get 4 cards revealed a turn so it was unlikely you'd ever get clogged with mana.

There are actually a lot of games with better mana systems than mtg but mtg is the bare minimum of passable. I'd probably rate it like a 20-30 as one of the weaker elements of the core game to be honest. Getting mana screwed either way (too much or too little) feels real bad and there's no real out for it.

Like yeah it's a big deal but imo it's eclipsed by PPG in every way and is the same kind of show. I guess it came out first but it's all the same era to me. Though I at least respect the Dexter's Lab inclusion-- the ed ed n eddy picks are the head scratchers for me.

The bigger problem is that people don't have the energy to yet are still very stubborn about their reads or just dont care to vote.

I think it only takes one or two people doing the DD to win. But those who do not need to help them. Otherwise scum just controls late game lynches with impunity.

You like to handwave me and say I always vote you but I think I've only screwed up once in the past few years on thinking you were scum (again I often suspect you but I usually townclear you before you're in serious trouble) I think it's remembering your play back when you were pre-Crisis Ulti that I'm able to read you better than most.

Like I have been making an effort lately. People don't like how I solve so I've been trying to like, keep suspicions below my absolute top tier in my head. And I think in this game it worked but I didn't have a lot of time to mess up either.

But like if I fully engaged we might have pushed Lea or Red day 1 (top 4 were you Lea red ctes) and given a scum an out.

Now either because you like the thrill of being harder to figure out as scum or because you just don't care enough to actually try and digest the game and would rather just brazenly push whatever tickles your fancy you've become this 4th alignment you're so proud of.

That's a recent thing. Back when you could solve games you actually read games and didn't make a million contradictions every game. Now you're too busy just random pushing, half the time due to something that has been outright contradicted earlier in the game, or OMGUSing or to solve much

People thinking you're suspicious is a product of how you play. To some extent I have the same problem so I mean I get it but yeah. You just need to put more effort in or gambit less and people won't go at you as much. Really that simple.

I have not seen it admittedly but I would be very surprised. AotC and TLJ are all time bad movies for me. To say nothing about Rise of Skywalker which I haven't even seen (and Phantom Menace is pretty bad too). Being the worst is a tall order.

It has nothing to do with him lying (he always lies in mafia) or having broken logic (he always has broken logic in mafia) is what throws everyone off.

The problem is the solution to him lying or having broken logic is NOT to say "oh that Ulti I'm gonna pretend he's town now because he is making no sense and he does that as town". Probing him is necessary to actually find out if he's scum or not.

I would say why your record is so bad is NOT because you're misread or mislynched as much as your general playstyle is a distraction for town when you roll town and your endgame solving needs a lot of work because you super tilt when people suspect you while at the same time drawing suspicion due to compulsive lying and abundant logic holes due to not caring enough to read the game. It's got massive anti-synergy.

I'll bite because you didn't mention TLJ or Directors

Star Wars has higher highs and lower lows.
I'd currently be way more excited for a new Die Hard movie than a new Star Wars movie.
Star Wars is more unique and has a lot more excitement as a body of fiction-- lots of great action flicks out there, the world of Star Wars is very cool and unique and you can do so much with it.

Giving it to Star Wars largely on the third point but anyone who just cares about movies and not secondary media I would say should vote Die Hard.

I don't think they ever were in a truly dominant position because you had scum scanned innocent and the zero effort play is to trust the scan and there was always a path to victory for Ulti by Chang -> Ben -> Sbell

Also waiting until you have to make a decision is a cop out because scum with no pressure is hard to expose. Also because if you get killed before you actually try you accomplish nothing in terms of scumhunting (ie Red)

Tl;Dr without JC in the game applying pressure I think Ulti wins so I don't know how "dominant" for town the game was.

I think if I'm actually in the game I would suspect Chang too so no big foul lynching him there.

Although from a setup perspective I stand by scum bulletproof should not exist in a game where the doc is the vig so I feel Chang getting that much pressure out the gates was odd. It's too punishing for town for the doc to use his vig shot.

Gave me some good perspective on my own play though-- Chang was talking through stuff like I tend to and then he took some bad turns based off of poor assumptions like I tend to and then town turned on him even more. Like the mental gymnastics needed to logic Lea to be scum is too much if you're not already down the rabbit hole

Ulti has scumtells. Ulti will claim I just suspect him always and get lucky but my ability to catch him is well above average and it's not because I suspect him every game (I do suspect him most games but usually back off before killing him if he's town)

Maybe someday people will believe me on it

Nothing wrong with trying to push a lynch you believe in. Idling 45 hours with the same thoughts you had at hour 3 and adding no content in the meantime is no bueno
