I'll probably stop coming to gamefaqs. I first came to gamefaqs when gamewinners boards were dying due to how active the gaming boards were here. Then those started dying and I moved to system boards then finally to CE. Once CE is dead or I lose access I'll probably just delete my account and only come here if I need a guide for a old game. I first came here for something Kingdom Hearts related. Then somehow found LUE, which was more interesting than talking about nothing but games imo. Missed the signup for that, then saw CE was an active board and started posting here. If CE was as dead then as all the other social boards are now, I most likely would have never come here again and forgotten it exists. --- This is where cool people write stuff. |

There's an IGN board very similar to CE with almost the same amount of traffic. But they accuse every new user of being an alt and can be cliqueish. It's a shame ResetEra and neoGAF are so fucked up and locked down like Fort Knox. Decent general boards are quickly going extinct. --- This is where cool people write stuff. |

but that would play right into Fandom's hands. We're not the cookie-cutter users they envision. We're gamers who crave lively banter and camaraderie beyond the confines of strict gaming talk. If we all bail, Fandom will simply refill our seats with gamers who toe the line, sticking solely to video game discussions. They'll inherit our space, but not our spirit. Our memes, our battles, our tales gone in a flash. Our legacy reduced to mere whispers in the wind. The day we stop smiling is the day they remember our laughter. How will they 'refill our seats'? Plenty of boards already exist here for gamers, but going by the popularity of boards like CE, people don't want to talk about nothing but games all the time. It's not just like that at gamefaqs. All you need to do is think about it from the perspective of obeying stakeholders and advertisers. They don't want politics, hornyposting, or really even communities forming at all. They just want people who will click on ads. Don't the communities make up a large percent of those being targeted with ads? Having people who come here regularly, some posting at all hours throughout the day every day of the week, seems to be where the traffic is. That's why this whole thing doesn't make sense to me. I had to shut it down manually with the power button. It's the first time in at least a decade I got something that looks like a virus. you aren't listening. people are being suspended for inoffensive posts. let's stop with the victim blaming and take accountability. moderations stay up for a year and people are being given 90 day suspensions/warnings for offensives that aren't even offenses when context is taken into account. People are being considered bad eggs when a mod can just go through anyone posting history and decide to mod everything as "trolling" because being sarcastic or whimsical is trolling. People's honest opinions are considered offensive and trolling these days.
