there's a death in midsommar that bothers me conceptually.

i think it's the black guy. he goes into a building and starts reading a book i think, that was forbidden for them to access. you see a guy in the doorway. the guy hits him over the head, and makes some weird moaning noises at the guy while he's dying. for some reason on my first watch, i didn't notice the killer didn't have any pants on so his dick was out. the idea of being immobilized, dying, with some naked dude with his dick pointing at me making weird noises freaks me out lol.

Breaking Bad: I am Ozymandias

Sopranos: Long Term Parking

I am trying to avoid spoilers, but if you have seen those episodes you know the deaths I mean.

Someone brought up Casino. The deaths at the end of that one referenced in the thread bothered me for a long time.

So not really graphic but Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood. When Roy kills lust. Allegedly she can't be killed. Reality is they have a healing factor that's based on philosophers stones they have ate so kinda like a battery. Roy decided to test her alleged immortality and burns her to death she heals and he keeps doing it till she's no longer able to heal. So she dieb by burning to death like 10 times in a row. Screaming the whole way. She was a evil bitch but even I started to feel sympathy

The main characters love interest just gets unceremoniously and accidentally cut in half, pinned to a wall, and her guts fall out. It's so sudden and graphic and to a character that is definitely not supposed to die.

Probably the whole Megiddo scene from Tensura. More specifically when Folgen sets out to attempt using his skill to command the remaining soldiers to serve as a cover for retreat, & he just flops to the ground, as he's basically lobotomized in an instant; like many of the soldiers there, he was dead before he could even realize it happened. Even given the context & motive, it shows just how ruthless Rimuru could get when he needs to, especially given that his acts led to him acquiring a skill that allowed him to instantly end the lives of those who were too afraid to resist him; it's the kind of thing you don't really expect from a protagonist that isn't generally portrayed as being on the evil, villain, or anti-hero spectrum..

These arent gory or shocking, more emotional.

13 Reasons Why.
the end of season one. You know what happens the whole show, you know its coming, but man it was still so depressing and sad.

I felt like that one had no impact at all because it was just really cheap shitty writing. They spend the whole series acting like a whole lot off seemingly tiny things pushed somebody to suicide, then drop the actual reason in right at the end which completely invalidates everything that came before.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
her mother. It was just random and out of nowhere. It was realistic. No monsters, no villains. Just a random health issue.
It was in real time I believe with no music and seeing the shock and horror of Buffy. It just felt so realistic to me the way it was done. Buffy fights everything, yet here she was pacing and couldnt punch or do anything to help.

This, however, I completely agree with.

The Green Inferno. I wasn't ready at all for this movie.

When the cannibals tied one of the guys to a big rock then started hacking off his limbs and gutting him. Then eating him. It left nothing to the imagination.

The whole movie was disgusting like that.

Walking Dead has some sad ones. Since a lot of folks already mentioned some good ones.

Spoilers for Walking Dead. Noah, being ripped apart in the revolving doors, it also mirrors the deaths in Day of the Dead (OG) spectacularly.

and of course Glenn, though it hurt, I'm glad they stuck with the comic route for his character because it is such a linch pin moment for the group.

Hereditary, pretty much any of them barring The son, which was kind of goofy IMO, but the mom severing her own head off with a piano wire was intense AF

Getting into some darker territory, there are two particular kills in a set of gruesome and unsettling kills in a movie known as When Evil Lurks, an interesting take on demon possession film. Little girl gets rag dolled by a big dog, and a boy is being ripped apart by his own mother in one scene, it's truly awful.

Yeah as said almost. You know when something like that is going on you can temporarily forget what they have done.

Kind of a opposite situation but like when senator Armstrong in meta gear rises makes his speech to Raiden I was briefly like why's he the villain again? Then like 2 seconds later oh right what he was doing to kids

Senator Kelly's death in X-Men (the 2000 movie) is really fucked up. With him being on the table and his features/face expanding in some weird puddle frog thing and he just melts because of Magneto mutating him. Horrific.

Also, the dragon lady in Rush Hour 3. I mean, I know her character is an evil bitch, lol. But that's still a pretty gruesome death for any human being. It's completely off-screen, but the implications are still there with her getting crushed in the wheel. Especially with Carter and the girl's reaction.

The guy who gets a smoke grenade put in his mouth in the opening scene of The Dark Knight also seemed like a terrible way to go.

Someone else mentioned the disassembly scene in 2, which I also hated.
