Arguments for Chun-Li:

• she's quick and nimble when she needs to be
• she can float through the air
• she may or may not have the ability to climb up trees, but I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt

Arguments for DK:

• he is the king of the jungle, capable of defeating any sort of spinning bird
• he probably gets turned on by strong human women, which only expands his dong
• if DK shoots Chun-Li, it's gonna hurt

We had a topic about Lilac from Freedom Planet and nobody cared. But that's okay, because the strongest woman in the world is here to show us how it's done! Chun-Li has a history of taking on opponents outside her weight class. Meanwhile DK's lost to Akuma but beaten Zangief. Where does Chun-Li fall in the Street Fighter pantheon?

Street Fighter in general has gone up in respect. Chun-Li herself now has blown up a military-grade steel door by punching it really hard once. This would be equivalent to a Chunky Kong Primate Punch showing, which is very impressive because Chunky Kong weighs 2000 pounds and Chun Li probably weighs less than that.

However, Donkey Kong is still an 800 pound gorilla who is very good at rolling. Blanka is only 216 pounds. That is like getting hit by four Blankas at once, AND DK is bigger, faster, and stronger, too. Blanka's Heavy Rolling Attack deals 32 damage, so multiplying that by DK's 3.7 times percents damage, you get a 118.4 damage rolling attack to Chun Li's 144 health, meaning that DK does an 82% damage every time.

The numbers don't lie.

AFAIK, Chun Li has never worked in the trades, so I doubt she'd be able to detach steel girders the way Mario did. (Assuming DK, Sr.)

And I feel like these arguments heavily rely on DK, Sr. for tankiness because DK, Jr. gets bopped off the stage at the mere contact with a kremling. Chun Li would do more than brush into him.

If we're doing our best to apply apples to apples, seeing as Chun Li is from a fighting game, I feel like we have to use the Smash version of DK. Under those auspices, Chun Li has a projectile and could range DK. Her jumping prowess is probably less noticeable against a Smash character. Her lightning kick isn't going to compete with DK slapping the ground or spinning in a whirlwind because he's got much greater range. I feel like the match-up goes 6-4 for DK.

But can Chun-Li shrink in size to suit her mood?

The Neo Shadaloo Gorilla in Ed's Street Fighter 5 and 6 stories needs to be playable already so we can could analyse this match-up with something comparable.

That said, DK wins here. Chun Li has the speed advantage, but DK has ways to hit her from a distance and he has durability and strength on his side.

The coconut gun might be the deciding factor, I had completely forgotten to consider it before.

She can parry or negate it with her fireball

I don't think Kikoken would be able to do it, the coconut gun fires in spurts so she would only be able to stop one hit, and that move has a fair bit of recovery.

Parries are definitely on the table though.
