The way this site moderates it is that if a character looks like a child and is being sexualized, it's offensive regardless of that character's age in the game/anime/manga/etc. The '900 year old witch' stuff doesn't work.

Also if a character in the story of the game/anime/manga/etc is underaged, you can't sexualize that character even if they are drawn in a style that makes them look adult.

So does that mean posting a picture of Etna from Disgaea is moddable? She's supposed to be like thousands of years old but looks like a kid and her default character design is very revealing.

The speed of light is the speed of causality. To move faster than the speed of light is to move faster than things can happen - an impossibility

That's why the workaround ideas are things like folding space to skip past vast distances, wormholes, etc

But space itself seems to be expanding faster than light.

Unless said spaceship was roughly the size of a planet, no. Movies actively ignore the parts of space travel that are inconvenient. Some times it's only for the sake of getting on with things, such as the idea that FTL would mean exactly the same as warping, but some of them would serve as massive barriers. For instance, due to the lack in gravity being too long in space causes deterioration in the internals of humans. This could be given a parallel with something like Wall-E, but unlike there it would be over the course of a couple of years and not a substantial generational gap. So instead of your great, great, great, ..., grandchildren being fat your own body would quickly deteriorate without constant exercise and your own children would be lumps of meat that would never be able to go on a planet ever due to a massive reduction in bone density (though I suppose we could go the whole android route and have walking suits or whatnot).

So humans would have to become a space-based species, I think that would be good.

Unlikely. We already have the ability to teleport (literally: https://coffeeordie.com/alcubierre-white-warp-drive/ ) and it is hard to believe that we will do something that under all of our scientific understanding thus far is extremely and patently impossible. This, of course, ignoring the fact that even at the speed of light we would still be going too slow for any movie's plot to actually function as it sort of gets glossed over that it would still take years to get to even the closest planets of real relevance. If going FTL is basically impossible, what exactly would be needing to go ~1533x FTL in order to make it to the closest planet in a full day be called?

Maybe we could all live in big spaceships, which would have cities inside them and stuff. That way a movie's plot could still happen >.>

Its not impossible well figure out how to use worm holes or phase shift or something, but there is no hypothetical technology that will allow that to happen at this time

I think anything that gets you somewhere faster than it would take light to travel that distance is a no-no because it violates causality. Like there are frames of reference where it would appear you arrived before you even began your journey. That would break the universe or something.

I've been reading about this and apparently it's not just about going very very fast, but travelling faster than light in any way would break the fundamental laws of time, space, the universe, cause and effect, etc.

So it seems the best bet is actually just traveling shy of the speed of light and deal with consequences of it taking years to reach anywhere outside our solar system.

I have a theory about Jack. I think canonically she's supposed to be topless, because characters make a reference to that, and she only has the straps for game rating purposes. But in canon does straps don't exist.

The tattoos are such a huge turn-off though.

Wow, ME2 feels considerably larger than ME1. Did the mission on the collector ship earlier, now doing all the personal missions for the characters. Miranda and Jack got in a fight and I sided with Jack, so now Miranda hates me even though I did her mission. :(

Just played through the Zaeed Loyalty mission, I didn't get his loyalty I think because the other guy got away >.>

That last part was also pretty difficult, the lack of ammo is really driving up the difficulty

I just saved 'archangel' and recruited the Salarian. Since y'all are so insistent I'll use a save editor to change class to Infiltrator. I just hope there's a way to get more sniper ammo, as I feel it runs out too quickly.

I played a bit of ME2 and changed my class to Soldier >.>
I felt like Infiltrator was not infiltratorish enough (skyrim sneak archer)

about what's wrong with society/the system/the world etc., the writers then have said villain do something irredemably evil, as if to taint the villain's cause. "Yeah, things are bad, but look what the villain was trying to do! That's badder!"

Either that or they make it so the villain in secret doesn't believe what he is saying. Then the message is "Don't trust people who want to make things better, they secretly don't!"

After playing almost nonstop through the weekend I finished ME1.It was pretty good, the last missions were great. I'm talking about the tropical planet, Illos, and the last mission.

I ended up having not-sex with Liara, Kaiden died in that tropical planet (RIP), maxed Charm as someone recommended and I think because of that Saren killed himself.

In that last important choice, I decided to not save the Council because it didn't seem right to focus on saving the politicians rather than winning the battle.

Things I didn't like we're the fetch quests, and side quests which forced me to go to random planets which all look the same on the Mako which controls awfully.

There was a sidequest involving Batarians and an asteroid I'm collision course with a colony, which strangely felt more important /high budget than otjer side quests, so I thought it was main story.

Gonna start ME2 but probably won't be able to play much until next weekend

Been having fun, the only thing is the dialogue choices. I select things and Shepard says something different, I get the feeling she says the same thing no matter what I choose

Yeah that sounds boring, it's also why I stopped playing ESO. Boring combat + weird unintuitive levelling system
