but i do agree that young people should join politics. one of the reasons my country's politics are so messed up is because it has too many old men running it. if we had more young politicians then we'd definitely not be so mired in things like "ooohhhhh end abortions" instead of real problems

how many people among that 7% are straight up 18 or 19? being in your mid to late 20s is very different.

in any case I think demanding accountability is a huge first step, which is what thurnberg has done. We know the gist of what must be done, stop granting companies such freedom to pollute, and start to saddle them with more of the duties to fix the consequences of their operations. regulation and fines would be a good start. we already know this. we just need to up and do it already, the problem is that our politicians don't care about it or don't have the boldness to demand it. in america. idk about in your country.

Because you're not a pleb that has a meltdown over literally $5 and you realize that if tipping was eliminated restaurants would have to pay their staff more (and in the end the staff actually makes less on straight hourly vs hourly plus gratuity) and raise their prices, leaving you paying about the same as if you'd tipped. And paying more for that same meal if you were a non tipper.

So in reality if you don't support tipping and want to see it abolished, all you're accomplishing is screwing the waitstaff, kitchen and support staff (who typically share in those tips) and yourself because you're now paying more for your meal. Literally nobody wins.

no, we have a slight coronavirus increase but it's still significantly lower than 2010 or 2005 or earlier.

I think game freak has strong art direction but they lack the technical skill to really capitalize on it. and they don't give themselves enough time to polish their games.

ILCA is even less proficient than game freak, they've never made anything impressive, and it's obvious game freak told them "just copy Diamond and pearl piece-by-piece" and didn't trust them to take any creative risks with the pokemon aesthetic.

Game freak played it safe with Let's go, now they're trying something more challenging and I'm hoping it performs better than the wild areas from sword/shield.

It doesn't degrade, it's here forever and we aren't slowing down. Oceans are already full of plastic and we only really started using it heavily in the mid 20th century. All the existing plastic pollution will still be a problem in 100 years but we'll have compounded the problem with our ongoing production of plastic, so it'll be even worse.

Agreed...I actually prefer buying my games digitally. it's easier for me, more convenient, and it doesn't pollute the planet with more plastic or involve shipping things around the world.

But I hate when companies don't offer the chance to buy and keep a thing. They want me to keep paying and never own it. I do resent it. I'm the kind of person who only occasionally wants to play a game, so I might only want to play a retro game every 2 years or so, and I should be able to spend ~$8 to get the game and play it whenever I feel like, maybe in 5 years, without having to go and renew my rental when I want to pick it up again. barf

If they just gave us both options then nobody would mind.

and I haven't watched the movie but I've seen a scene from a transformers movie where the villain seemed like he was based on steve jobs, so yeah that one also seems likely

When I saw Truman Show I thought the villain was based on steve jobs but I'm really not sure. IDK if steve jobs was so big at the time the movie was made.

If it's based on a real human from the toy story universe then I guess they turned him into a sort of sci fi figure for his show

if they want to make a space cadet movie that's fine, it comes across to me as far less intriguing than their other sci fi movie from 15 years ago, which was intriguing even from its teaser trailer. but maybe it's more interesting than it looks in the teaser (basically looks like any other space ranger cartoon played straight but with a higher budget) and personally I don't care that it's connected to buzz lightyear, i'd probably be more interested if they made it new instead.

maybe his voice isn't up to it, he is pretty old and despite what you say your age does matter, especially since his character is pretty young here

and if they're hoping to make sequels from this then they might not want to count on using tim allen 5+ years from now

yessss i always hated that episode

it looks visually good but otherwise there's nothing interesting happening here. i've already seen lots of movies with astronauts launching into space so this trailer doesn't really do anything for me. I'll give it some leeway since it's a teaser but so far it's got generic sci fi vibes, and pixar has already made a sci fi movie with a more interesting premise than this
