I wasn't following zelda news back then so I wasn't around to react, but TWW was my first 3d zelda and i always loved it.

that said, that trailer for it is pretty bad. Link coyly winking at the camera? TWW runs the full spectrum from utterly goofy to pretty gravely serious. when that trailer was all you had to know what it'd be like I can see how you'd feel disconcerted.

BW2 definitely deserves much higher than that.

bw2 came out when people were beyond done with DS games. pokemon had already released DP, then platinum, then HGSS, then BW, AND a lot of DS pokemon spin off games, and then 3DS came out.

and THENNNNNNN, an entire year and a half later,
they released BW2.

i agree that it is better than the other reduxes, but i don't blame the reviewers for having grown slightly weary of these games. BW2 probably would have gotten great reviews if it had come out in 2007 instead of 2012.

So the better version of the game get lower scores, that's dumb

part of a reviewer's criteria is how novel / intriguing the game is. Redux pokemon games are 85% the same as their base versions, which makes them inherently less interesting than the original versions and is the reason why they always get lower average scores.

if you haven't played the original game then the remakes are generally unilaterally better games (which reviews usually point out) -- but they get lower scores bc it's boring to rerelease a game with only a bit of extra content.

i don't really agree with the premise that reddit shouldn't censor anything. there are certain communities that i'm glad are censored on reddit

but i do think the moderators are a problem and it's disheartening how aaron schwartz's ideals were pushed out. i think what guides reddit's censorship is mostly capital rather than a sense of what is actually good/bad

you are talking as if the worst thing that happens when you drive like that is that some property is stolen/destroyed.

in reality, these chases often end up killing wholly innocent people just like that. driving at 120+ mph weaving through traffic at intersections, you know it's deadly and you know the risk you're putting yourself and others at, and for what. so he could have a new motorbike. selfish and stupid.

no sympathy for him. i'm just glad he only ended up killing himself and nobody else.

they aren't...bodybuilders are pretty much evenly distributed. you might get farther as a short bodybuilder because they tend to look better than tall ones, which explains why there are a lot of short elite bodybuilders

Cotton died near the end of the original show's run, but I'm wondering if they'd retcon that in a reboot since he's a downright iconic character and it's hard to imagine the show coming back without him.

cotton's death can't be retconned. but they can show him in flashbacks/memories if they really want to put him in the show. KOTH has shown plenty of flashbacks of cotton/hank/peggy etc from when they were younger, they can do it again if they want.

Not saying Simpsons is great, but my gosh has South Park turned to complete and utter dog shit. Trey and Matt are clearly phoning it in at this point. You can almost hear their cries for help with every new episode. They are begging for the network to put them out of their misery.

agreed, but i don't think simpsons is doing so well either.

at that point of the game you know that bombing things reveals weak spots, including power bombs. so you mess around until you find the weak spot.

idk why everybody calls it weapon durability when it's really weapon fragility.

anyway, the point of weapon fragility is so you can live off the land as you play. instead of finding a weapon and never thinking about it again, you can find weapons everywhere and you can do with them what you want. set them on fire, throw them down a canyon, hurl them at a monster, whatever. you can even take weapons from wild creatures you encounter, and they can even use your weapons. it's dynamic and interesting. you can always find more of them. and you can get them no matter where you go in hyrule, no matter what point of the game you're at.

A hookshot would be really cool, i'd love more ways to traverse the air. the glider was so much fun

what legitimate reason is there to dock points for a movie because it features women in charge of the world.

Game freak has only made one spin off game before and it was Pokemon quest or something.

Game freak devoted a Dev cycle to this game and it has full connectivity with home. The gameplay continues their experimentation with placing roaming Pokemon in wide natural areas that they've been playing around with in the past two mainline games, SS and LGPE.

Whether you want to call it core or mainline or whatever doesn't matter, the point is this is not some trifling side gig they churned out and will forget when it's done. Game freak will continue to iterate on the ideas in this game even if they decide not to make an explicit sequel.

zero escape is a garbage franchise anyway...or at least the first game. (I didn't play the sequels)

bomb kirby is sooooo fun, idk how it isn't winning

the synopsis sounds like something I'd find kind of annoying, I'm not a fan of stories where the protagonist is a cocky prodigy. but i'll get over that if the book is good.
