Banjo -- good choice but IDC about him
Sora -- good choice but IDC about him
Joker -- bad choice and IDC about him
Pyra/Mythra -- bad choice and they're crappy, and they shouldn't be adding to franchises that are already in the game
Sephiroth -- he's iconic but I think they should've added new franchises instead of existing ones
Piranha Plant -- kind of cool but I wouldn't have paid for him
Terry -- lame and IDC about him
Kazuya -- lame and IDC about him
Min Min -- good choice and I was willing to buy her, but I didn't
Byleth -- terrible choice, a complete waste of dev time.
Hero -- great character and I bought him. He's a lot of fun and deserved to be in.
Steve -- also a great choice, and the only other one I bought. I wanted him in considering how important he is

I also think it's sad that Ultimate only has 5 unique newcomers and a new semiclone in its base game.

3DS/Wii U have 15 unique newcomers in their base game. Brawl had 15 unique newcomers plus three semiclones. Even Melee had more new fighters than ultimate.

Not to mention that Ultimate only had 4 new stages in the base game........It's basically a deluxe collector edition that put 90% of its new content in separate paid mystery boxes which I found very lame. I wasn't up for paying an additional $60 to get content I think should have been prioritized for the base game

Implying they even have any. There are a handful of no-name background gay characters who mean nothing to the movies' plot and who can be handwaved away by censors without affecting the movie. I think the explosions and lasers look unpolished, and the environments don't pop with color like most Metroid games. They're too bland.

Claiming it looks like a Wii or GameCube game is just wrong though.

Being gay or queer isnt really about the chemical processes of arousal in the brain and body. Its a willingness to be one of us, to claim oneself as part of our tribe. If he doesnt feel the need to do that or thinks doing so would be disingenuousindeed, if he must be straight for this kink to workthen hes straight.

Sounds like they're just bending the definition of sexual orientation. In reality you aren't straight or gay just because that's what you identify yourself as. I understand that they're getting at "we'll take you at your word" but in reality it's possible to just be in denial about your real orientation.

checkpoint systems dont have anything to do with a games difficulty.

if you need proof of this then just play VVVVVV. the penalty for death is never more than respawning at the last checkpoint, which is usually only one or two seconds back. Still a challenging game. There was no need to raise the stakes further, other than to frustrate the player pointlessly.
