My entire family is full of Cluster B goodness, and I feel like I'll have to talk to someone about it eventually to further my life goals and evolve as a person. But there are three problems:
  1. The things that really bother me are all very strange, and unless you have experience with severely disordered people, I don't think you'd believe what I had to tell you.
  2. I'm afraid my gender and health problems will work against me. When I've tried talking to friends before about some of the things that bother me, I've basically been told that I need to man up and get over it. And when you are physically disabled, tons of folks talk down to you like you are a child and struggle to have a mature, real conversation about anything. This is true for general life stuff too.
  3. There seems to be a recent trend among mental health professionals and on social media to rebrand people with Cluster B personality disorders or traits as "misunderstood", and to make wild claims about how well these disorders can be treated. There is a reason many therapists refer Cluster B people out as fast as they can, or won't take them at all. And why there are support forums all over for folks that have had to interact with them as partners, friends, or family. I fully realize personality disorders can each have hundreds of permutations and comorbidity that are unique for an individual. and that not everyone who has a personality disorder like this is dangerous, abusive, or resistant to change. But if I knew the good ones personally, I wouldn't be thinking about talking to a professional about my life.
On the off chance someone here actually is an expert (or in school to become one), I'd appreciate any advice you could give on how I might approach one of your peers and have a good conversation.

I haven't played FFXIV in ages, but I always thought the characters were fun and cute. One of the main characters is a lalafel, and she is most definitely an adult. I never saw any weird roleplaying or anything either. People just had a good time.

The real problem is that people are shitty in general. Evolution crafted us into intelligent social creatures, but our minds are poorly made and the cultural software they run is not well suited for the world we live in. People max out socially at around 30 close contacts (great for hunter-gatherer tribes, but bad for everything else). Some psychologists have estimated that around 90% of people are psychologically dysfunctional in some sense. Empathy occurs on a spectrum, and most of the people I've met are on the low end of it.

So many relationships turn out to be fragile, and they often seem to be transactional for one or more of the participants. You only need to take a quick look at posts asking for relationship advice to see a wide range of cruel, bizarre, or dehumanizing behaviors people engage in, even with with partners they've been with for years and have children with. It's sort of shocking. And the prognosis is poorer the earlier on in a relationship you are.

Ghosting does suck, but at least it happened early this time. I knew a gal who had a fiancee she was trying to have a kid with, and she was constantly on the lookout for someone better she could swap him out for. She was desperate to get pregnant (maybe to tie him down?) but kept putting off actual marriage so she could keep looking. I'm pretty sure her guy didn't know, and you wouldn't have suspected that this otherwise nice, fun person didn't really give a shit about this person she was close to and trying to start a family with. You just never know, man.

I'd also like to speak out against this idea some people have posted in this topic about this weird social contract they think exists where one partner can essentially be expected to read the mind of the other. Yeah, that's not only not reasonable, it isn't a thing at all. Good social skills are a must, but being able to do things like read body language is junk science. Humans are complex creatures, and the only way you can really know what one is thinking is to ask them, and for them to tell you the truth, and you to listen.
TopicEsophageal Cancer

The outlook is definitely gloomy. You're basically playing for time with Stage 4 cancer. Once the cells have spread to other parts of the body they could be basically anywhere else too and there isn't much hope of any kind of cure. I'm sure there are lucky folks out there, but the only people who have a reasonable shot of a cure is if the cancer is in a discrete, removable lump. And even then, it might still have spread elsewhere or you might fail to get it all.

These are things I learned first hand from a couple of close relatives dying of cancer. I had a semi-distant relative who had esophageal cancer specifically, and all I can say about it was it was ugly and quick. Your guy might do better being so young? Try and treasure your time with him and love him a lot if you can. Even in cases where you don't know the person well or weren't close, having someone die of cancer leaves you with a lot of regrets.

Of course she feels like that. But if her mom is the one doing all this and she's stuck with her mom. What do you think is going to happen from here? The next time your gf says she's going to hangout with you do you think her mom is going to just be cool with it?
I'm not entirely sure what goes on in the minds of people who have normal families. It's probably the case that nobody in the family likes the gf's mom. Unless they are all shitty people too, or the mom is one of those rare types who can control their dysfunctional impulses enough to look normal in regular social situations.

What should happen from here is that the gf survives living with her mother long enough to move out and get away. People who do what this woman did to their own daughter--and indeed, we must wonder how volatile the situation between them is if a text like this causes a grown woman to cry--are not normal. The people who support these people are either pieces of shit themselves or deceived. If the family sides with the mother long term, nothing for it. You can't win these types over with kindness, compliance, good social skills, or adherence to social norms. They just keep hurting you until you leave.

Id like to try and draw my own waifus but I couldnt even draw a stick man properly so I doubt professional software would help me >.>

If you want to do traditional art, buy some good pencils (Staedtler Mars Lumograph Art Drawing Pencils on Amazon are the best), buy a pencil sharpener, buy a sketchbook (for drawings where you try, so you can measure your progress), and a stack of copy paper for practice exercises, and learn the fundamentals of drawing. You need to learn things like lines, shapes, 3D, and some perspective.

I feel like this is the best video out there for getting started if you take it seriously:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpqEE9yU474

Then you want to study anatomy and figure drawing (anime characters are exaggerations of human form). You can learn that piecemeal or try an online course or a serious book. I can't offer a suggestion for this because I haven't studied figure drawing yet---landscapes are my jam.

If traditional art isn't for you, buy the largest pen and tablet that make sense for you and download Krita. If you feel really serious about drawing, grab Clip Studio Paint instead. If you have an iPad, you can just use an app and one of those pencil things for drawing (don't have one, so no comment there) Then just go and study the same things. If I can do it, so can you!

Over the last couple of years, art has become a major hobby of mine. If you've sort of tossed the idea of learning some kind of digital art around in your mind but haven't settled on anything, I'd like to lend a hand by pointing you to what you nee and the great deals that are going on right now. I would have gotten into art sooner, but the stuff can be kind of expensive and I never bought the stuff on sale. Worse, I bought the wrong stuff because I didn't understand what I needed for where I was at.

If you want to do digital drawing, painting, or sculpting, you need a pen and tablet. Wacom is the standard professional brand, but I've found them to be way overpriced at every level. I have zero complaints about the XP-Pen brand, and they have a Black Friday sale on now:
https://www.storexppen.com/

Check Amazon too because they might be cheaper for the product you want.

If you want to draw comics or draw as close as possible to physical media, you can't go wrong with Clip Studio Paint:
https://www.clipstudio.net/en/

If you want to work with photos, videos, or serious graphic design, you can get a big discount on the Adobe Creative Cloud:
https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud.html

If you want to work with photos, do graphic design, or do basic desktop publishing and you don't have the money for an adobe subscription, you want an Affinity product:
https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/

If you want to do vector art (things like logos, perfectly crisp 2D, icons, etc.) and have no money, Inkscape has you covered:
https://inkscape.org/

If you want to paint or draw or do basic animations and have no money (or just don't like Clip Studio Paint or Photoshop), Krita is what you want:
https://krita.org/en/

If want to do any kind of 3D art, go download Blender. It has a weak video editor and texture painting that is just OK, but it's modeling and sculpting tools are powerful enough that it is starting to be used by professional artists at big studios. Tutorials are plentiful, and it contains fair to excellent tools for all parts of 3D art. For any part of the process, there are professional tools that have an edge, but it'll be a good long while before you hit any kind of limit or know that you might prefer something else. Like Krita and Inkscape, Blender is completely free.

https://www.blender.org/

Finally, if you want to get into pixel art, Aseprite is the tool of choice for most artists, and you can snag it for $13.99 on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/431730/Aseprite/

I hope this list helps somebody! =)

The criminal bears responsibility for both the robbery and creating a dangerous situation. However, the cop who actually killed the other cop bears the direct responsibility for his death and should, at a minimum, offer an apology to the wife of the deceased, cease to be employed as a police officer, and never be allowed to fire a gun again. I don't know about jail time because I really don't know if prosecutors ever go after people who accidentally kill another person during a violent struggle.

It's disgusting that the officer who actually killed someone isn't at least owning up to his mistake, and that this man's sentence is likely longer than it would have been so that he can bear that officer's guilty for him. That's probably the real reason these felony murder laws exist.

Or what about maybe doing digital painting or digital sculpting? Every piece of digital art software I've used has had a stabilizer function that you could turn up quite high to smooth the motions of your hand. Prior to getting medications to help me control the side effects of a neurological condition, I focused primarily on 3D art as a hobby because it can remove some or all requirements for dexterity.
