Interesting, ironically I feel like you would've liked the 2021 one less. Personally I'm mixed on it, I think it has a great monster and one cool sequence but it's underbaked in a LOT of areas.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Nightmare on Elm Street. If I don't watch in October every year I would feel like something is just off. The cozy suburban setting just drives it in that much more. Totally agree with your fresh comment, I'm always in constant of how much of an insanely good idea the whole film is. It's also why the sequels are as creative and fun as they are too, cause you can do anything with dreams and nightmares.

Can't wait to see the Cat People review, another favorite of mine, but I'll see if you agree.

Watched Candyman (2021). I was a little underwhelmed but I still enjoyed it. I definitely liked how they re-contextualized the Candyman legend for the modern day. The subtext to it all feels even stronger than the '92 film. But, where it falters a bit is in actual screen presence, obviously no one is going to take up the screen quite like Tony Todd did but still I feel the actual presentation of the Candyman is sorely lacking.

Man I miss Channel Zero, what an amazing horror show. There are better ones but I think it might've been my favorite. One of the few pieces of media to actually give respect and credit to Creepypasta.

I'll give you that one. And I do love the The Town That Dreaded Sundown meta-sequel-remake. But then they literally remade stuff like April Fool's Day and The Hitcher like people were really begging for it.

A true classic. The history on display mixed in with fantastical sci-fi/fantasy is at its peak in creativity and usage. Characters like Leonardo Da Vinci feel as fully fleshed as any other fictional character. Major themes of conspiracy and religion are used in tandem for a compelling & thrilling adventure, propulsed by a far more interesting framing device than the first game for better pacing. AC ALMOST never got better than this (if IV didn't exist).

It's been I would say at least 10 years since I played this. I remember most of the characters being pretty grating, the plot about revenge being particularly uncompelling, and severely disjointing which is a problem with most GTA plots to be fair. However, its themes of immigration and some of the harshest lampooning of American culture should still be applauded, AND the DLC packs give the whole game a considerable boost in quality, especially Johnny's.

V/H/S 94 is getting some good buzz so far. I've liked all three of them, sure they had their misses in certain segments, but for the most they're good anthologies. Pretty excited for this one.
