Is there a top 64 bracket this year? Predictions for that were always less popular, but it also gave a better impression of what happened in the final rounds than looking at four separate quadrants on bracketmaker.

The house looks amazing. I can see how you might rent for the week with a group. 14k is still steep, yes, but it's a lot less intimidating when it's split 5 ways. My sister pays something in that range each year for her vacation at the shore. Some people really do have more money than they know what to do with, though, so I don't doubt there are single rentors.

What does not look amazing is the surrounding neighborhood. That aerial shot looks like they just plunked a luxury mansion down in the middle of scrub forest. I'm going to assume that what I'm actually seeing is light forestation near the beach and that the path at the bottom is connecting to a boardwalk, because if this is a tourist town then this all makes a lot more sense.

And yeah, most things will give you AR. At that point, I'd also make sure you're focusing on the adventurer's handbook. Don't feel a compulsive need to rush the story in general, but getting that skin should be doable if you hustle.

The first two of these were unfortunate match-ups. The latter two hurt. Especially Rush Hour. I don't feel anything for Liber Ark beyond "this is definitely a trails song." I feel like I could point to 6 or 7 that are basically the same exact mood, and none are exceptional.

Diablo 3 had to do this.

Leave it to ulti to make up reasons to hate on Blizzard. Diablo 3 is essentially the same game it was at launch. The RMT auction house is gone. Very little outside of the actual legitimate expansion is that much different, though.

I'm also confused why people are arguing for Diablo 3. Yes, the AH was an issue, but what else was wrong with the game exactly?

Trying to distinguish between "bad launch" and "bad game" is pretty nonsensical IMO. When we say a game bombs at launch we don't just retcon that after a few months because "Well, it never recovered so actually the launch didn't suck it was just a bad game, completely different."

Sounds more like trying to shoehorn a kind of "Best Comeback Story" category by dismissing games like Sonic '06 from the category because it "just was a bad game." Well, like... yeah, it was. And that kind of made the launch bad by necessity too.

Given KP's lineup of poll choices I think the intention was more a total bust at launch with the pre-launch hype/expectations and/or damage to the brand being a major factor in elevating the contenders above the rest of the heap because the fall from expectations was that much worse.

Agreed completely. I think that a game that manages to rebound from its initial launch does help establish that the launch was the problem for the game, but sometimes a game craters so hard there's simply nothing that can be done. Like, I don't care what anyone tells me about what kind of shape Fallout 76 is in now -- I'm not going to play it. I don't care. It could be amazing or it could be dogshit; it was still a monumental catastrophe.

And this is part of why I'm arguing for ME:A at least being a poll option. The Mass Effect brand was basically radioactive to the extent that I suspect they intentionally held onto the trilogy re-release for longer than they might have otherwise, waiting for things to cool off a bit. Say what you will about the ending drama with ME3, but people still loved Mass Effect after the original trilogy. If you had said a new ME game was coming between 2017 and 2020, it would have spurned to hell.

The bugs were a factor, not the reason. A perfectly running Andromeda is still a trash game.

I played it a couple months ago -- not to completion, which might be needed to have a proper opinion, but a fair bit -- and it didn't strike me as trash. The main reason people crapped on it at launch was the bugs, and those have been patched out.

Kinda curious to see how New Vegas will do now.

As for FO3, this was the first exposure for many of us to the Fallout world. The opening setpiece of being born and growing up in the vault was interesting and unique. The moment when you exit the vault into the wastes is definitely a moment. The quest to find dad was never particularly great, and the ending to the original game stinks, but a few other moments along the way were decent and the thing that has to be remembered is that this game was created in the mold of Elder Scrolls, where the main quest is just a sidelight to exploring the world. Considering that some of the story moments (Tranquility Lane, arrival of the Enclave) are quite good, and they did eventually patch up the story with the DLC such that I never played the original lame ending, I can't completely deep 6 this one like FO4 where your conversation choices don't matter and the main story is so full of absurd plotholes.

They're a convenience thing. Have a day you don't really want to log in? Hop on for one second and blow your resin on four condensed. Have an annoying domain to farm? Cut that in half. Have a specific talent book you need a ton of? Save up today's resin to spend tomorrow when you need it.

They cost 40 resin, and they are like spending 40 resin in one domain instead of 20 -- you get literally double results. They don't save or boost anything. Some people use them daily as a means for reducing the number of domain runs they have to do by half, and other people hoard them like fragile resin for a day when they want to go nuts.

Dungeons and Dragons is kinda this too. The relative simplicity of 5e coupled with high profile games like Critical Role dramatically escalated the number of people willing to give it a shot.

This is funny for me to hear because I've been less exposed to D&D since 3rd Edition was current. I don't think D&D was ever really flying under the radar so long as I've been aware enough to know what it was (at maybe age 7 or 8.)
