I think this is dinojrs best album since their 20th century stuff! I really enjoyed it haha. I agree that its AVs weakest album, but imo its still full of fun riffs and catchy tunes (plus I love both Farren and Rosenstock).

Ah. Im very album-focused in my listening. Unless Im really craving a particular song, I always put an album on. Feels like watching just one scene of a movie or playing one section of a video game otherwise. I have a hard time getting into singles-heavy artistes for this reason though so its a curse :/

In the past 2-3 years Ive really picked up podcasts. Used to be that every second of the day I was either talking to someone off red listening to music. Nowadays I have a hard time listening to music during my commute and much prefer podcasts.

Ehhh idk. I understand that animals have emotions and are complicated beings (but I disagree that theyre as complicated as ppl) and I appreciate that. I like animals in the sense that I think marine life is really neat and birds are cool as fuck and even domesticated animals like dogs are super interesting in a science and behavioral kind of way. I like reading about animals and took a few animal science classes for my minor in biology. I like animals when theyre not real. But as soon as I have to take care of one, Im out. Im not responsible enough to have a pet, and I definitely dont have what it takes to care for a dog or other needy animal. Also i have issues with germs and being near animals freaks me out in that way. I dont even like touching other peoples pets or interacting because its just kind of icky.Thats what I mean when I say I dont like animals - I dont like the idea of having a pet.

I dont even know if dogs have the capacity for hate love or dislike in the same way we do. I dont need him to love me, but if animals have opinions and ideas in similar ways to us I dont want him to die thinking anyone hated him. Itd be nice if we were on friendlier terms in his final months/years, but mostly I want him to not feel bad

Some background: I dont like animals. Growing up, my siblings had gerbils, fish, and spiders. I was always allowed to have a pet, but I never wanted one. When I was about 10, my sibs really wanted a dog, and mom was willing to get one, but I was against it.

Even as a kid, I was acutely aware that my life was easy and I wanted as little responsibility and chores as possible. I didnt want to do any of the stuff that goes into having a pet like feeding, cleaning, etc. And a dog is so much more than that. Theyre needy and smelly and need to be walked. I was not into it. The rest of the family wanted one though, and my mom threatened that if I didnt want to do any of the work that went into having a dog, I wasnt going to be allowed to have any of the good bits of having a dog.

so yeah we got a dog and I tried my very best to ignore him. I never fed him, walked him, washed him, cleaned after him, or looked after him in any way. And I also never pet him, or cuddled with him, or played games with him.

anyway now Im in my mid twenties and the dog is about 14 or 15 years old and is starting to get some health issues. I dont see him often because Ive moved out and live a few hundred miles away. However, Im starting to feel bad about our relationship. I dont want to go back in time and do all those things with him, because honestly I still dont like dogs or animals in general. I just dont want him to think I hate him and to pass away disliking me. I dont hate him, after all - I just dont want to be a pet owner and I didnt want to be forced to be one.

Im visiting my mom for a few days. do you think its too late to tell the dog I dont hate him, and maybe become his friend?

My (sisters) dog saw a hawk kill and eat a turkey this morning and is now traumatized. He has his own little perch on top of an L shaped couch in my parents living room that has view of windows facing East and wear. He much prefers it to his actual bed with blankets for some reason.
He woke everyone up right as the sun rose, which he never does, quiet thing. They all thought someone broke into the house but no, it turns out he was just watching a bird devour another living creature.
They couldnt get him to go outside AT ALL, and so he hasnt pooped or peed and isnt using weewee pads. I wish I could be there to help him Id kill that hawk and feed it to him.

A cousin got visited by police today. Why?

Hes been unemployed for 2 years now, and has been forced to get a job because his mom wants him out. They arranged a spot at a small grocery store owned by a friend, but apparently they turned him away.

When we asked, it was because they asked him an icebreaker about what his favorite hobbies are, he said killing people for fun

So the cops searched his room because they had probable cause and found all his weed.
