Honestly if you look at just the plot beats of Animorphs, it's surprisingly dark for any level of reading, not just a children's book series. It doesn't come across as being excessively dark when reading through because the narrative is lightened by stuff like Ax's cinnabon obsession, but when it comes down to it are there any (non-sexual) war crimes that Animorphs doesn't touch upon?

Rogue - I actually don't think this counts. Asking someone just starting out to restart at level 1 after reaching level 10 (or even way higher than that if you didn't start in Limsa) is a very different ask for an actual new player than me going back and leveling

This is exactly what I did. I started with the full intention of going Rogue though. Picked Marauder so I could start in Limsa, then picked up Rogue and made the switch the second I could.

Also Trick Attack only really functions the way it should at Level 50. Rogue/Ninja has a weird skill progression.

Rogue wasn't a 2.0 job. It was actually the only job ever added between expansions. There was a story cutscene where Thancred is fighting alongside Yugiri and it goes like:

The only time the Avengers as a team aren't falling apart is in the first 15 minutes of Ultron, and in Endgame. They're a total mess otherwise.

Level 80 Summoner still only has those two dots. It's honestly easy to keep track of - they have the same timer, so when it's time to put on one up, it's time to put both up. Functionally it's just one move. It's not like Heavensward Ninja which had three different dots with different timers (two which took place at the end of a GCD combo) to deal with.

Would be kind of hypocritical of me to start yelling about how XIV is one of the best Final Fantasy games ever made and the best thing SE has going for them right now when I did not give two shits about giving it the time of day just a month and a half ago.

People just have preconceived notions about MMOs, which to be fair are mostly true for most MMOs. The notion that an MMO might have the best story in a single-player driven franchise is really hard to get across.

The moment he started gunning people down with machine guns was the moment the movie totally lost me, even if the rest of it had been good (and it wasn't). Better stories have tried to make Batman a killer for shock and drama and they didn't stick the landing either, because without a moral code inspired by trauma and neuroses, Batman is just a worse Punisher
