FF8 has many issues, but I love the game. So much so I max out all relevant magic AND go to level 100, just because.

For me, I love part of the story(it gets dumb at the end, but the mission to kill Edea is one of my favorite parts in any video game ever, and the world, and the music is good.

I like the Junction system but it is kinda whack. This doesn't mean much now having beat it like 10+ times, but the mystery of seeing what magics do well with certain attributes was nice when I wasn't so experienced, plus discovering new magic and also the odd drawable GF you dont wanna miss was a nice touch.

Story gets stupid towards the end, characters don't have much development, game can be broken from disc 1 six ways from sunday...but I am still a fan. One thing I can agree with as being ridiculous is how if you use a magic spell it takes away from that junctioned stat. So using magic is somewhat counter productive. At the very least they could have made the attribute decreases take effect after the fight, but then you'd still be hoarding high level magic for the final boss anyways.

I wanna order to/go to Sunnys wifes place if I am ever out that way just because good Pierogies are awesome, and I don't *think* a lot of places out here(pittsburgh) do them that much. It seems like everybodies grandma has a recipe, but I hardly ever see them in restaurant menus out here.

Though I havent looked at a restaurant menu since Covid hit outside of pizza, so that could be part of it.

When I worked at wal-mart once in a while there would be a panhandler outside and customers would come tell me about it like it was concerning. Like a panhandler is something that should not be seen in the suburbs or something.

I know at least a few times I didn't tell my manager because I have more important things to worry about. I've never lived in the city or a low income area, but there are places where panhandlers are just a part of life there, so to see suburbanites worrying about somebody asking for change had me laughing.

More people should be for defunding police. You expect your average officer to do the jobs of many, even ones that go to school for years for that very thing(mental health professionals). I'd rather have cops who can easily focus(as much as they can...being a cop is tough of course) on a few things rather than cops overburdened with 500 'jobs' they aren't qualified for or trained for.

If a social worker showed up to the Charles Kinsey scenario, maybe they would have recognized Arnaldo Soto wasn't a real serious threat, just a person with advanced autism who needs reigned in and actually helped de-escalate the situation. Instead we get officers with guns drawn while Kinsey urged his patient to cooperate. Kinsey was shot(he survived) and the officer that shot him DOESNT EVEN KNOW WHY HE DID.

That is a problem. Highly Autistic people aren't super dangerous, but they may appear so to untrained individuals because they don't recognize what the ins and outs of the condition are like Kinsey or another trained social worker would.

When we say 'defund the police' we mean hey maybe give a little less money to police and more to social services so these wellness checks can be handled by mental health professionals(with maybe a police officer along in case things do get violent)

Okay I got approved for the card.

So I spend $1,000 in 3 months and I get 205 dollars cash back(300 but 95$ a year fee) and after one year I bail.

6% on groceries(from dedicated grocery stores and NOT walmart, target, sams club etc) and 3% on gas making it even better.

I would NOT be getting this card if I had to pay the yearly fee outright, because then I wouldn't dream of getting close to the same % cash back adjusted for the 95 dollars.

Too bad this card is (thick) plastic and not metal. But it looks cool as fuck even so.

I didn't go sneaking around the house to find spots. The plan the whole time was to hide it in a record id place in their collection. I also did specify normal area of the house to make sure they knew I wasn't doing anything weird.

for conext I know this girl through because i work with her and have met her husband twice. So, I don't know them super well, but we enjoy working with eachother and she trusted me enough to live in her house for 4 days to dogsit. I wanted to do something while I was there, like a prank because I know these people would find it funny. But I figure a treasure hunt is just as good, with less of a chance it falls flat.

What I did was, I took the album "Tim" by The Replacements(My name, and just a good album) and put it into their record collection, right next to their unopened copy of Battles' La Di Da Di. I encourage them to listen to this and give it back, but the actual treasure is a half ounce silver round I stuck in the Tim album.

I told them there was a treasure hidden in a normal area of the house but gave no real clues except for a very cryptic message.

...Because the album is named Tim and the font is very similar to the Tim Horton's restaurant font. Like, this is the kind of clue you find out after the fact what it means and you get mad because its so obvious but also provided no help at all in the grand scheme of things.

This is something that happens in a lot of genres, but some punk subgenres use them heavily. a lot of songs sometimes begin or end with audio clips from movies, shows, major events, etc. This stuff still happens today but these were like pre mainstream internet memes. I haven't done it myself, but the odd person has been banned from our store because of mask shit. One guy comes in with a mask on but is breathing heavy and wheezing. The PERFECT person who shouldn't be out in the middle of a pandemic where the main symptoms are respiratory.

The person waiting on them told them they could call curbside or wait outside next time. Not really prying into their medical issues but when every two seconds is heavy panting/wheezing, it's really a courtesy.

My company is owned by the state gov't of PA, so in some ways it is awesome. We do not have to serve people without masks and we aren't breaking any rules or policy.

If somebody doesnt have a mask, we ask them to stand outside and we take their order, or we ask them to call curbside. Both reasonable options anybody with a medical issue would already be looking into.

If this woman were to not comply and stand there, the cops get called.
