She really triggered a lot of hate when she said she was targeting a different audience than straight white men, and from that point on the part of the internet that complains about sjws locked onto her. They even made videos about her body language as proof that she's unlikeable

It was a very charming style. The 3d environments blend pretty well with the sprite characters. I think the battles look a lot better in Black/White where they're all animated and take place in a 3D-like environment. But the trees in gen 5 actually look worse than they do in gen 4.

My biggest problem with gen 4's graphics is that it has such a slow framerate.

The graphics have been changed to make everything brighter/make the colors more saturated. It robs the world of a lot of its atmosphere of dread and despair (which was an important part of the game). They also changed all the boss fights to focus on hitting a giant eyeball, completely changed the Zora swimming mechanics (to the point that it's no longer fun), and made some other minor changes (like, I think you can no longer get the Stone Mask before going into the Pirate Fortress).

It's funny you said that right before I said the opposite opinion about the updated colors in the MM remake.

The higher saturation in the color scheme actually makes the game resemble the official art more closely. I don't think it robs MM of its dread, I think it enhances the uncanny atmosphere and allows the game to have more unique environments, instead of washing everything out the same way.

That said, I think MM's remake REALLY improves the environments dramatically. They put so much effort into the architecture and details of items placed around that game, and I love how more dramatic the sky gets when the moon gets closer.

Waiting 20 minutes between brushing and eating is a thing. Unless you are more educated on the matter than every dentist I've had; your opinion doesnt matter to me.

I already asked a professional dentist + dental assistant about it and they said you're wrong and were horrified at the idea that some people think it's good to eat after brushing instead of before.

I honestly hate it. That said, Nintendo's thing is different for a few reasons. They're only pulling it with NES/SNES games. If they tried to pull that with EVERY switch game you can bet people would not be happy.

Nintendo should simply sell the retro games as an option, AND rent them out Netflix-style as they're doing, and customers can choose whether to rent or buy.

Xbox wanted to try this:

To synchronize licenses, the console would be required to connect to the internet once every 24 hours; if the console could not connect, all games would be disabled until the console was connected again.

Even Adobe products don't require such frequent phoning home

Although I will admit that I do wish we got our cloudy, grey-sky and raining cyberpunk setting, some fucking variety in aesthetics is nice. The sun being out in a cyberpunk thing doesn't mean that it still doesn't depict a future where corporatism and capitalism are out of control.

If I'm being honest I'm kind of tired of cyberpunk aesthetic. It's flooded the internet along with vaporwave and outrun for at least 5 years now.

Cyberpunk 2077 seems like it's just heavily emulating bladerunner 2049 (even down to the titles) which feels kind of uncreative. But IDK maybe it will do something new with the aesthetic, the game isn't out yet.
