It's also great that apple protects me from accidentally using an inferior non-webkit rendering engine for my browser. imagine if i downloaded firefox simply because i wanted my safari to have the firefox icon, and then didnt realize i was actually using firefox to render my webpages. what a disaster that would be. this also protects me from accidentally using any evil browser extensions such as an adblocker :-)

it doesn't really matter in this case -- the decision to choose the president would go to the house of representatives. if there are no congressional elections either, it would ultimately go to the senate (unlike the president and house, they remain if there are no elections) to pick the VP, who would then become president

Mail in voting is actually more secure than many other means of voting because you have to go through the federal mail system to receive and send your ballot.

Going into someone elses mailbox and tampering with mail are automatic felonies even before any other wrongdoing and the USPS takes the crimes very seriously.

A far less secure scenario would be to have long lines of people out in public waiting many hours to vote in some locations, with polling places suddenly changing or closing down with little to no notice, while many people vote on machines that are error prone and often not secure from tampering.

Imagine if they did that, saw the ballot, and then filled it out the way they wanted and sent it in. All I could do would be complain that I didn't get to vote but there'd be no way to do anything about it. Nevermind if a mailworker got malicious, a delay happened due to literally everyone in the nation sending in mail, or people singling out voters because now their ballots can be traced back to their home.
