Black Friday is a total shitshow. I don't know what everyone's gonna do different, but I remember when I was working retail.

Days were split between the job and endlessly looking for a career job based on my degree. With that came trying to flex/shift hours for interviews, always uncertain if a proper risk was taken in possibly losing that retail job. No offense to anyone who works in retail, but for the people who are in the same boat I was, now having to juggle a COVID shitshow - and without an ideal healthcare plan - I feel really sorry for them.

Was practicing boing-e-boings. Still kinda eludes me. I don't have my string too tight but it kinda drifts in rotation and then I start missing after 3 bounces or so. Makes me question if I need to actively adjust my offhand better or if my throw is actually not straight enough.

One day after, it's starting to pick up. Seems like rhythm corrects a lot of the alignment accuracy. Real difference maker for me was cutting a couple inches off the string. Cleans up every step from the throw, to the split bottom mount, and then the movement.

oh shit didn't see it at first. Good call. YYE is best yoyo place. Andre Boulay is my cousin-in-law and I actually worked there for very close to 10 years (coronavirus did some damage and hit his other business hard so he had to cut down on staff :( mostly at the other business but we were hit too and I was more of a potential spreading risk as I was taking the bus. Sucks but I understood the decision and he would not have made it lightly). If not for corona, I would have been the one to pack it up and ship it out for ya :P

Wow way cool (apart from losing the job). I was guessing that's what you were getting at with your questions. Stuff was well-packed and made it to the west coast pretty fast with standard shipping.

It's definitely a jump for me. I'm so used to watching out for binding and spin time, and now it's the opposite. I remember how much I had to rely on doing hard sleepers to get through single tricks. Now I have.....time.

Bought a YYF Shutter. Been over a decade since I've messed with a yo-yo and it was mostly short front-facing string tricks with clutch Yomegas and HyperWarp Wing. Just stuff I casually could pick up locally. Never really had anything with a proper weight and response system because I just wasn't that into it.

Whips and bounces were hard to pull off. Hope I can do that stuff now. >_>

I know conservative Latino people too, Blue Lives Matter and all. I can respect them because they aren't blind Trump worshippers or try to impose their beliefs on anyone else.

Usually is a pick-your-battles thing they're on. They lean conservative over certain matters like abortion, etc. I don't think that warrants support for reelecting Trump, but everyone is free to believe what they want if they're respectful about it, and craft a decent enough reasoning to where they stand. Of course another factor is where they live. The people in question I know have grown up in red areas so it's what they take in every day.

I think the problem is taste, particularly in the US. The ideal of a beautiful woman is so screwed up and directionless. Fashion and makeup trends, at least targeted to the common populous, are just poorly thought-out imo. Really misleading to young girls, kinda throwing some abandon to decency. Most women I know and see don't have a basis to why to dress/makeup themselves, apart from it's the trendy thing to do assuming they registered the trend correctly.

Black lipstick, high ponytails because they think Ariana invented it, all kinds of dumb shit that has nothing to do with developing their own individual tastes. While I'm not attracted to such, I can respect a nerdy dressing girl because she's really just being herself. This issue persists beyond female aesthetic but society's tastes as a whole. A lot of people can't think for themselves. It's actually crazy how many people can't tell you what "hobby" or "thing" they have because they aren't genuinely into anything.

Congrats to what sounds like a life well lived. He was able to shape his life and his image by simply doing his work, blueprinting the professional figure in his specialty. Humble celebrity and was dedicated to what he was doing. You can't replace him.

Dave's very adept to what happens around him and pulls it into a narrative/his next skit. Sometimes it's weak, because what he had to go off was weak. But that seems to be a part of his live-and-die, and majority of the time it works.

He is, like another person said, also just speaking his mind with less concern of fully crafting a theatrical skit out of it. Half of it is funny observation, another half is conveying his perspective.

And how he escalates his conversation about white people is a bit of a spin of how (some) white people talk of black people. If you replace "white" with "black" in his dialogue, you've probably heard those same statements before. It's teetering on a line of "stooping to their level", but I didn't think he crossed it. Did enough to make people think about it in one way or another.
