It's a true observation though, double standards when it comes to shit like this is disgusting. I read in the news either yesterday or on Tuesday in a case there was a 22 year old woman prosecuted for having sexual contact with a 14 year old male on multiple occasions the judge in that case said "they had genuine affection for each other" so she avoided any jail time, she was sentenced to a 3 year community order, and 5 years on the SO register.

This thread is a decent example of how lightly some people take female paedophiles as well, the third post in makes light of the situation where as if it was the other way around people would be baying for blood, not making jokes.

She doesn't mention black people at all though, people are assuming she's referring to black people so it is those people making assumptions that's in the wrong, not her.

I fully agree with what she's saying, if you're on welfare and somehow able to afford luxury goods like that there's something that's definitely broken since the average person working their backsides off can't even afford to make those purchases.

If that happens, then that homeless person would deserve whatever he's got coming to him, but in this instance the homeless man didn't do anything to anyone, they did it just because they wanted to.

If you use one instance to insight violence against another who has done no harm then use your child as an excuse for your actions that day, then yes, I have to still say you're using your child to justify wrongful actions.

No matter what walk of life you look at, whether someone is homeless, rich, poor, fat, thin, white, black, whatever there's always going to be someone among that group that will act like scum, not everyone deserves to be tarred with the same brush. It doesn't give anyone the right to target someone who hasn't done a thing wrong and assault them.

Pretty much, the place I work during the weekends is reopening on the 4th aside from what's listed above there's a 2 in 2 out policy. I can only assume if someone wants to go out for a cig they'll be told they'll have to re-join the queue to get back inside.

What I can see happening.

-Idiots coughing at staff then claiming to have Covid when they can't get their way.
-People trying to enter via the exit only door to bypass the line
-People trying to smuggle others inside via other firedoors
-People trying to smoke inside because they cba to line up again
-People getting abusive for having to wait

It's going to be fun >_> re-opening on a Saturday as well, such a brilliant idea...They should've left it until Monday to break people back in for the coming weekend.

Yeah its stupid as hell, I know you never point at anything you don't intend to kill, and keep your finger off the trigger until you shoot, and always check the chamber, but I think we should take it by a case by case basis and I don't think this guy deserves jail time because he's already suffered a lot and will the rest of his life

One thing I can think of that will serve as punishment as well as being beneficial is to make him do awareness lectures for kids at school. Even though it should be common sense not to point your gun at someone which is something we're seeing more and more of. Maybe with him forced to tell his story as well as the effect it has had on his life to kids it could potentially save another in the future.

An accident born of stupidity, sure he might feel guilty for what he did, but he should still face some jail time simply for mishandling a firearm, you should never point it at someone (or anything for that matter) unless your intent is to shoot.

This is coming from experience of being in the same position his friend was in only difference is it was my brother aiming a gun at me, I told him he better not fucking shoot at me because it could be loaded (which he said wasn't) he then aimed at the wall and fired, it was still loaded.

So yeah whenever I hear of people feeling guilty for their actions of causing injury, or death of another through stupid actions like this I feel no sympathy for them, they should be punished accordingly. Ignorance, and stupidity shouldn't mean a slap on the wrist.

I'm looking at this from a different perspective to some others I suppose. If we assume everything leading up to the altercation is true with him blocking the drive thru with his car while he's drunk asleep inside of it, the police had not choice but to intervene. He not only failed roadside sobriety test, he resisted arrest and successfully fought off two police officers then stealing one of a taser in the process.

As I mentioned in my previous post they couldn't really use pepper spray in that situation due to the distance between them, the only ones that would feel the sprays effect would've been the officers, not him. The other officer fired his taser but missed it's at this point he turns around and tries to shoot one of the officers with the taser that he took from them and is shot down.

If you take into consideration the earliest events that occurred further non lethal take downs are out of the question. If he successfully shot one of the officers with the taser, without lethal force it'd become a one on one struggle (something which the cops lost when it was two on one) leaving the officers with the only choice to use lethal force.

It's unfortunate, but even with hindsight there's little they could've changed to alter the situation.

I agree that with the potential fast paced nature if it really seemed like it was a gun then it's a little different. Some of the images that come up do kinda look like guns.

I don't think this is an open and shut case, but it's hard to know if the information that comes out is what happened or some CYA at work.

It's not quite the same as a lot of the cases though if he did take one of their tasers. Although I question how he'd manage that without them noticing...

From looking at the phone footage it does look like the other cop did try to taser him but missed, at that point his back was towards the cops so pepper spray wouldn't have worked, and there was a bit of distance between them so it wouldn't have been as effective if at all with the likelihood is that the officers during the pursuit would've been the ones that would've been caught by the spray, not him. A few seconds later (looking at cctv footage) he turned and aimed the taser at the closest officer, it's then he was shot.

Whether people like it or not this is a justified shooting.

Haven't listened to the radio in years. Used to listen to a certain station then capital fm brought them out, got rid of all of the DJs at the time to promote a fresh image and replaced the playlists with the same 13 songs on a continual loop.

Thankfully not, I've been furloughed waiting to receive 80% of my wage which my employer is trying to figure out by averaging what I've earned over the last 12 months...They've got around 50k people to do the same for so I'm not expecting to get paid any time soon...Luckily we won't lose anything since it'll be backdated to the date we had to stop work which was 20th March.

It has to be put back on at some point, whether the virus is gone or not. It's not financially feasible for a Country to lock down for what supposed experts say could be up to a year. Sorry, I should've mentioned that I live in the UK. Over here apparently if an employer wishes to keep you on payroll the government is going to fund the workers wages up to 80% of what they earn each month for a max of 2400 pcm.

This funding is going to be active for 2 months with a potential plan to extend it further if the outbreak doesn't settle by then.

With that said though after my last post I did read millions will still lose their jobs and get nothing regardless of government assistance. So for now I'm holding my breath to see if my workplace gets funded, if not I'm still lucky since the ETA for our reopen is in 14 days with potential extension afterwards.

Try your local/corner stores for goods, more often than not people overlook them and go straight for the supermarkets (at least that's how it's working where I live. Thankfully the moronic panic buyers haven't invaded my local corner store yet)

Today was supposed to have been a normal days work, turned up, told not to bother, stopped behind with the guy I work with for a drink, then learned there's now at least 14 days before I can go back to work... Thankfully though my employer wants both of us back so I think we qualify for that scheme the government's rolling out that pays for staff unable to work due to Covid-19 shutting down work places.
