It wasn't racist to have "wuhan" somewhere in the name until like a week ago when suddenly people decided it was because Trump. It's also nonsense to argue that the WHO gave it an official name because nobody seems to care that we call it "the flu" and not "influenza" or that SARS and MERS are colloquial names given to some coronavirus strains while HCoV-229E, HCoV-NL63, HCoV-OC43 and HCoV-HKU1 also exist as strains without being given such designations. There's no consistency in how these viruses are referenced such that you can claim calling it the "Wuhan virus" is somehow exceptional and not more or less how it's always done in these cases, and as with the list I posted there's a long history of putting the origin in the name. Even the Spanish Flu is technically H1N1 Influenza but nobody is calling people racist for using that name.

No. This is a derivative of SARS and they managed to extinct SARS with vaccines. While it has some flu-like symptoms it is NOT the flu and you can't really compare the two besides talking about their virulence and morbidity.
