The suspected attacker, a 25-year-old man, was arrested about an hour and a half later after police said they had found him "hiding out at nearby hotel room." The stabbing happened just before 1:45 p.m. at the McDonald's restaurant at 9461 Dyer Street and the man fled on foot after stabbing the girl, police said. A police spokesman said the girl was "randomly targeted" by the man as he walked into the play area. The girl was transported by firefighters to University Medical Center on a code 3 status, which is used to designate those very seriously injured. She was then transferred to El Paso Children's Hospital and reportedly had suffered a stab wound to the stomach. Police and hospital officials later said she was listed in stable condition after undergoing surgery. The suspect was taken into custody just before 3:15 p.m. at the Super Lodge motel, police said. His identity was not immediately released, but a police spokesman said charges were pending. I feel like a fake because Im not really in his inner circle so I shouldnt really be sad, but I keep thinking about it and how I was (more than) once so close to doing it. At the time it seemed like the right thing to do and now it just seems so... permanent and short-sighted. whats really fucking me up is his mom posting pictures of him every couple hours on Facebook. Understandably, shes grieving super hard. I cant even begin to imagine what that feels like. anyway I feel like shit for making his suicide about me but thats also just how Im feeling so |

Sometimes Id see him at parties and stuff, and Id talk to him when our org would have meetings. anyway he killed himself last night and a lot of my friends are understandably pretty upset. Online, people are donating to nonprofits and stuff in his honor. lifes crazy. |
