Nah man. Just because you have a weird hangup about foreskin, doesn't mean people who think differently about the issue are brainwashed sheep.

Like what am I gonna do? Get angsty about it, get ass blasted at my parents for snipping my willy skin off? Regrow it with a ziplock bag and a couple of rubber bands? This is my dick, as I've always had it, and I'm comfortable with that. I don't yearn for a time where I was "complete", because this has always been my reality - and that doesn't make me upset, because I have more to think about and worry about in my life than to add another layer of victimisation on top of it.

I don't have time to give myself an ulcer over an insignificant flap of skin taken off the top of my knob. My cock is fine as it is. That's as valid a viewpoint as any pro-foreskin talking points - I'm just as entitled to like my circumcised dick as much as you are to vehemently opposed circumcision as a cruel and barbaric practice. Foreskin is not a big deal to me - I know it is to some people, including a circumcised person on this board who feels wronged by it, but it doesn't inspire this mouth-frothing victim complex in me and that's fine.

If this is a big deal to you, then that's your fight. Being circumcised is a non-issue for me. I'm perfectly whole as a person, and being circumcised doesn't make me feel like I've been robbed of anything. My cock is still there, I can still jerk it with or without lube, I can fuck just as good as anyone with a foreskin. Say what you will about the practice, but it's perfectly reasonable to not give half a flying fuck about having your foreskin removed. I don't need the stress of painting myself as a martyr for being an unwilling participant in an elective surgery, I have shit that I actually care about to worry about.

I've seen screengrabs of a 24 hour speedrunner falling asleep while playing Majora's Mask, and his chat going nuts trying to wake him up as the moon falls onto Termina.

Then there's this beauty:

Was this really Mr. T's first major role? This movie introduces him to the world.

It's no wonder that he became defined by Clubber Lang's most memorable phrases. He leaves an incredibly strong first impression. Instant classic, right there.

Is it more CommanderHolly stuff?

Honestly it feels like Dan and Arin are running it like a business, I miss the spontaniety of their earlier humor. But that's unavoidable when you have a comedy show running for 10 years. Eventually you run out of stories, and the YouTube landscape has changed so much that they've had to alter their content significantly just to stay on top of things.

Whatever the case is, I think Dan and Arin had respect for each other as equals, and it feels like they're putting in the time to make it work. I can appreciate that.

Also, "Spider Kiss" is one of my favorite Game Grumps bits ever

I didn't like Creed 2 as much as the first one, with Ivan Drago's story being kinda lame, but at worst it's still a perfectly serviceable Rocky movie.

I just hope that if there's a Creed 3, there's the same thunder behind it that made the first one so good. Whether it be Ryan Coogler's direction, bringing Stallone in to help tailor his character to his liking, whatever - I really want a Creed 3, and I really don't want the franchise to burn out into mediocrity. Again.

I'm being a bit harsh on Rocky 2, sorry. It was okay, but it had a lot to live up to and I just didn't like it as much as I liked the first movie. My expectations were realistic in regards to Rocky 3, so I think I took to it better.

It's not a turd, I was being particularly harsh on it. I still like it the least so far, but I went too far in calling it a turd.

The seams are starting to show in this one. The formula is down to a science, the paradigm shift is in full force. These three movies have the same basic musical cues, plot structure and payoff - with the biggest deviation being the first movie in the franchise. But Rocky 2 and 3 lift a lot of the structure from that first movie and filter it through a more triumphant lens.

With that said, this is the movie that seals Rocky's status as a franchise. The original sin was 2, but it's the third movie which really hammers it home.

Plotwise it's on the nose and kind of tone-deaf. It's not a great film. But like I said, the fight choreography is great - very dynamic, very visceral. The last fight in Rocky 2 provided the building blocks for how this movie's fighting goes, and it's a great watch. It's an entertaining movie.

And Burgess Meredith turns in his best performance of the franchise. Like I said - I was openly crying when he died. It's a hard watch, he and Sylvester Stallone knocked it out of the park. I felt more of an emotional connection in this movie than I felt in the second movie, right down to Paulie's jealousy-induced breakdown at the start.

I'm looking forward to Rocky Balboa. It might be the one Rocky movie that has a chance at matching the original. Please don't weigh in on whether that's actually the case or not, because I want to see if it holds up to my opinion of it free of outside bias. Just wanted to put my cards on the table - 4 is an entertaining movie, and for all I know I'll like it better than 3. But the crown jewel in this watchthrough is Rocky Balboa.

I dig the ending scene too. I know they go into it in Creed 2, so it hasn't been so mythologized for me, but that's a hell of an ending shot and I like how it built up to Apollo's favor.

The trailer's a lot better than 1 and 2's trailers, at least. I feel like you can see the modern movie trailer slowly emerge with each new Rocky trailer. The first movie's trailer ruined all the good parts, sans ending. The second one had a lot of the same problems. This third one does feel very similar to the last 2, but it keeps some details to itself and it emphasizes the conflict that Rocky has in this movie. It actually builds up the tone of the movie instead of just being a sizzle reel like 1 and 2 felt like.

I didn't like how one dimensional Clubber Lang was, Mr. T was fighting fit and in the best shape of his life. Apollo Creed was depicted as an intelligent businessman with a couple blind spots and a sore ego, but Clubber Lang is just one mean motherfucker with a barely present personality outside of being mean. Honestly, he really sets up the monster-of-the-week format that Ivan Drago would go on to be known for. But aside from that, I really liked this one. I read some deeper meaning into Rocky training at the LA gym, in opening himself to new experiences and respecting a culture of training and fighting that he didn't come from. But then you've got Paulie being a bigot and Rocky getting some generic Good Guy Points for being a decent human being. I kinda feel bad for Burt Young, to tell you the truth - he gets the short end of the stick in every movie. It's a very on-the-nose sort of movie.

But yeah. Rocky 1 is the best movie of the franchise so far, but Rocky 3 felt like a riveting, blood-pumping sports movie. I liked it for that, and I liked it better than 2. For me, Rocky 2 is the Wii U of the franchise - it's an awkward stepping stone between two juggernauts, fumbling with defining aspects of both and being a weaker product for it. The first one stood on its own, and the third one took the first one's momentum and ran away with it, but there was an awkward middle stage where it was a little bit of both - and ultimately, despite having some bright spots in its run, it's kind of a messy hodgepodge of what made the previous and next products so engaging.

idk why you guys are calling the beach scene cringe. It's a bit hamfisted, and Talia Shire's delivery isn't fantastic, and I guess I can understand not liking how they basically just shout poorly about their feelings to each other. But I believe in the dialogue, and as obvious/amateurish as the scene might come off, I can buy it as a well-deserved wake-up call for Rocky. He's afraid, he admits it, and it's through Adrian's support - her unconditional love - that he can find the strength in himself to carry on.

Like one of my formulative media experiences was with End of Evangelion. I dig the hamfisted emotional talk.

3 is when Stallone just started putting style over substance. Worst acting, more pointless filler (Hulk Hogan) and it just comes across as the lazier film. 4, 5 and Balboa are just trash.

We definitely agree on Creed. That's a movie that's so much better than it has any right to be. A soft reboot of the Rocky franchise seems like the most cynical, lamebrain idea ever, in an atmosphere where shitty soft reboots feel like a shit smear against the legacy of the property it's continuing. But Creed is incredible - I love that movie so much.

I also agree that this movie is where style over substance feels like it's taking over, and the movies are starting to feel really silly and self indulgent. And it's unfortunate.

Like I said, Rocky's a cartoon character now and that doesn't go away for the next three movies. Rocky 2 started the franchise on this trend, and it's only going to depart from the nuanced, offbeat character that Rocky was in the first movie. But saying that, the ground they're covering in this movie is great - Clubber Lang is great, definitely one dimensional, but how can you hate Mr. T at the top of his game? I think Paulie is less of a piece of shit than he was in Rocky 2. The fight choreography is fantastic.

It is a shame to see Rocky go from a story of a down and out scrapper with nothing to lose to the greatest hero in American history. But if the plot is going to become more serialised and outlandish, I think I can appreciate the movies going forward as great sports movies. Rocky 2 was a rehash and a turd, and it can be argued that Rocky 3 marked the beginning of decay in the franchise - but so far, it's had some great moments, and it's proving to be a great sports movie. At worst, it doesn't feel like a convoluted rehash of Rocky 1, Ike the sequel was - I like 3 a lot better so far. But I'll get back to you on my full thoughts once the movie's over.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Like I said, this movie can arguably be called a paradigm shift for the franchise. I loved Rocky 1, but every Rocky movie I've ever seen has been a great sports movie - never saw the entirety of 5, but 3 and 4 are great inspirational movies, the same way a great car movie gets the blood pumping. Rocky 3 has been a great watch so far, on its own merits.

DevsBro posted...
Yeah 2 was pretty much the story of 1 again, except worse. They at least made Rocky's development arc a little different (dealing with family instead of dealing with random assholes on the street) but the most disappointing thing was making Adrian go through the same exact development, right down to literally starting the movie having undone her development on 1 for some reason. She flips out at Paulie at exactly the same point in the movie and everything. They just had no idea what to do with the character after 1, and for good reason--1, as you said, was a perfectly self-contained film. It also bugged me that they flip-flopped Apollo, like, in a few minutes I guess. From "ain't gonna be no rematch" to "rah rah I want a rematch." They should have just left out that intro hospital scene altogether. Otherwise it' s fairly smooth.

Anyway, 3 is great. It's not quite as good as 1 but all the characters actually make sense, even if Paulie is... well, Paulie for the third time. He doesn't actually grow as a character until 5, which is odd because 5 was definitely the worst movie in the series. I loved what they did with him in Balboa, though. What they sid with Mickey felt dumb at first but they made it up to me with how Rocky responds and his talk with Adrian on the beach.

The thing that bugs me the most about Adrian in Rocky 2 is that she's basically just an object for Rocky to feel guilty about, then her brother goes over and abuses her for standing in the way of Rocky's training, and rather than being a ploy for Rocky to come and foil - to maybe get them talking and on the same page, which I honestly thought the movie was setting up - his entire plan was just to yell at his heavily pregnant sister for making Rocky feel bad.

In the first movie, Adrian brings out the best in Rocky and vice versa. And while their love scene is... questionable by today's standards (thank God she liked him enough to marry him, is all I'm saying), while Rocky learns to open up and be honest about his feelings with her, he inspires her to fight back against Paulie for being a monumental piece of shit to her.

Her arc in 2 is to not approve of Rocky's fighting, justifiably as he could lose vision in one of his eyes, then to miscarry and go into a coma for cheap drama, then to wake up and approve of Rocky fighting because it's what he needs to do. Basically, she submits to Paulie's will from when he sent her into premature labour, and she lets Rocky fight because a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. It's the inverse of her arc in Rocky 1, and after enjoying her so much in the first movie, her arc in 2 felt like a slap in the face. And what's worse is that the piece of shit who yelled at his heavily pregnant sister and sent her into premature labour - an act which is depicted as pretty deplorable, and for which he's shown feeling guilty about, for the record - is ultimately painted as having the correct point of view.

I needed a break to let my tears dry, lmao - I'll be back after the rest of the movie.

Holy fuck, I knew it was coming but I started crying when Mickey died. It wasn't a proper cry, like sobbing, but tears were streaming out of my eyes. Jesus Christ.

I was watching Scrubs with a friend today, and the episode came on where JD's dad died. And it got me thinking about mortality, and how I'm really not looking forward to the day my dad dies. He was gone for most of my life, he and my mum didn't work out, but he's tried his best to keep in contact and as I've been coming into my own, I've been getting along all the better with my dad. I love him, and the thought of his eventual death just had me in a funk - didn't help that I had been drinking all day beforehand.

Because of that, Mickey's death scene was on a whole other level. Yeah, Rocky's a cartoon character now, but scenes like this show that Sylvester Stallone can act, and it's a capstone to the career of a great actor. My God, Burgess Meredith sold this so well, I literally started crying.

The fight choreography has been fantastic so far. Right now, the order is 1 > 3 > 2.

Starting the movie now. For the record, the first movie is better than the second movie in pretty much every aspect - I like the Rocky franchise as a whole, right through to Creed, but Rocky 1 was an excellent standalone movie and Rocky 2 didn't match up. Like, Rocky's arc in the first movie is to learn to love himself and trust those around him, and that the peak of his arc in the second movie is him learning how to read.

Paulie is worse in 2, Adrian is watered down in 2, and the movie's values have arguably aged even worse than the first Rocky. It had some fun moments in it, but Rocky 1 was a great movie and 2 felt like a hollow shell of a sequel. The best thing I can say about 2 is that it enabled some of the best sports movies of all time.

So yeah, time for Rocky 3. I saw this movie as a kid - I saw 3 through to 5, so now I'm in more familiar territory. It's been years since I've seen the Rocky movies, and the copies I had were VHS recordings from TV, ads and all - so this should be a fresh experience.

Gotta say, never liked Eye of the Tiger. Very overrated, simplistic song held up as a masterpiece. But it's fucking lit as the opening to Rocky 3.

apparently if you call your insurance or the hospital or something and get them to break down the cost for you, and you ask how certain items are justified for the price they're set at, you can get them taken off the bill. If they can't justify the cost, they'll strike it from the bill.

Unfortunately, healthcare pricing in the US is a racket between insurance companies and hospitals. The insurance gets rid of some of the stupid frivolous dogshit, and then they pat themselves on the back for saving you money. If you want to go above and beyond for yourself, you have to put in the hard yards yourself and chase every last penny. A lot of people with chronic illnesses or severe fatigue, or who are of an advanced age, don't have the stamina to do that - so they get fucked in the ass with bills like this.

And of course, even if you have the time and energy to whittle this bill down to what it should be - 181 pages is a major deterrent. It's an absolute chore, and it's designed to be insurmountable.

It's a pretty bland Facebook cartoon imo, but I can respect the message.

MK11: Aftermath is like paying the same price to get dessert, only for the waiter to stand on the table and shit a tidal wave of diarrhea onto your plate instead.

Mortal Kombat isn't high art, but the story of 11 embraces reckless abandon and goofy time travel shenanigans in such an earnest, endearing way. It wraps up the story that started in 9, and it can serve as a grand finale for the franchise as a whole. After X's next generation storyline and genuinely darker tone, I really enjoyed 11's return to camp and stupid fun for the sake of stupid fun. It's a romp through and through, and I love it.

Aftermath exists solely as a way to throw a wrench into the main game's ending. It's a frustrating experience, even from the get go. it's a fetch quest, which is bad enough - it's all over a crown, so the entire DLC is a macguffin hunt - but then it does the thing where the bad guy comes back to fuck everything up with time travel and undo a bunch of happy ending shit for the sake of conflict, and it spends the whole time painting Shang Tsung as a traitor with obvious musical stings and conspicuous shots that linger in him for longer than they need to, before revealing that - gasp! - Shang Tsung is a traitor! It gets so old.

It's a very well made DLC as far as production value goes, Shang Tsung's VA spends the entire time hamming it up and it actually made me like Nightwolf a lot. But storywise, it feels like it exists to write the studio out of a corner, and the way it does that is so frustrating as someone who liked the base game's story.

Also, they killed off my dude Kotal Kahn! They actually made him cool in this game, and they fucked him in the ass! God fucking damn it!!

Zach Braff has the worst "sexy"/kissing face, and his sex voice on Scrubs sounds like it should be coming from a guy with sex predator glasses. JD constantly sets himself up as a shallow, selfish person, and it really skeeves me out that he got back together with Elliot after inviting her to live at his and Turk's place after he leaned that she was living out of a truck. Hey, come live with me and my roommate instead of being literally homeless, haha I'm gonna kiss you now you're in my bathroom. I get that it's a sitcom and they're set up for characters to continually grow as people and learn life lessons and stuff, which necessitates main characters to act selfishly for a lot of the show - but in characters like Turk and Carla, it seems to work really well, whereas with JD it gets in the way.

It's a good show, but holy fuck does Zach Braff strike me as a major creep - and that seeps into his performance as JD.

I tell him that he faked his brother's death for attention, and that even on a stupid irreverent website where people talk mad shit, that's incredibly low for someone to do. Like it's not the worst thing that anyone has ever done on this website, but it's down there in the muck with all the rest.

Sorry if it's off topic, but Titans what is it?
Titans is a live-action show based on the Teen Titans. Robin, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy make up the team, and the first season focuses on Raven's lineage. It was controversial on GameFAQs because Starfire was portrayed by a black woman, and people ripped on leaked images from the set before the show actually came out.

I'm used to being so tense and anxious all the time, but I feel like I'm coming into my own element as a person. Nothing scares or intimidates me, I don't spend all the time worrying that my friends secretly hate me. For the first time in a long time, I actually feel a sense of peace within me.

It's dumb, especially with Elmer Fudd using a scythe - but if the shorts are still good, they're still good. Enjoy them for the comedic merit they have instead of letting one stupid decision hinder your enjoyment of the whole show.

It's like people who still shit-talk on Titans for casting a black woman as Starfire. It's a decent show, and if you're just gonna shit all over that one decision and let it rule your life, you're gonna miss out in something that is otherwise pretty good.

But yeah if the shorts end up being bad, then whatever. And this is a really dumb idea, like how does a scythe factor into hunting? I just think it's more productive to take the shorts you like with you instead of getting anally devastated over one aspect of the series.
