Yeah, and the Adani coal mine in Australia is probably about to kill off the Great Barrier Reef. A lot more life stands to die from one single coal mine in Australia than a bunch of wind turbines.

This is in the same ball park as "what if the wind blows backwards and sucks power out of the power grid?", with just a hint more plausibility. A bird or two might get clocked in one of these things, but we're not talking about entire schools of birds flying through a wind farm and getting shredded. Given that the turbines aren't built in the way of migratory flight patterns, this is barely an issue.

"urr AOC wants wind power which kills birds!" is a fucking fart-brained take on this I'd expect from some chud CE troll, not the president of the US. What a joke.

When was the last time you saw a HIMYM thread where the subject line didn't explicitly mention the polarising ending?

When the ending of a show betrays its fans so hard that any cultural impact it may have had is evaporated instantly.

HIMYM is the obvious example, and another example is Game of Thrones. Despite having a vice-like grip on the nuts of popular culture when they were out, the endings are received so poorly that no-one really gives a shit about them any more.

Yeah, no. The second you roll over and accept corruption, that corruption is allowed to go unchecked. It completely undermines the concept of law and order in the first place.

Trump needs to be hit hard every step of the way. Until that sack of shit and his cronies are thrown out on their asses, no-one should be giving him an inch. Yeah, it's another day of Trump being a fuckwit - another shitty thing to add to the pile. That should mean that the people equipped to fight him have another piece of ammunition to use against him, not that they have another reason to roll over and give up.

Encouraging apathy towards a person's crimes is a seriously gross move, especially if you have a personal investment in seeing that person succeed - whether you stand to gain anything from it, or if it's merely your own sick amusement. This behavior isn't normal - your elected officials shouldn't be behaving like this. Stop encouraging it as the norm.

A pub that shut down a couple years ago had a beef burger with a solid slab of a patty on it. It was thick, but it was proportional to the bun - it was a tall, wide son of a bitch. Good burger.

The issue is when the patty is too tall and not wide enough. Beat it down into a wider patty and you're good to go.

Like, what's the point of having a medium rare mince-meat burger? Why have your burger all pink? Eat your steaks and shit like that if you want, but a burger should be cooked through. A part of that is keeping the width of the patty proportional to its height - at an absolute baseline, it should be twice as wide as it is thick.

You see them on the back of these rickety-ass horse floats all the time, and you would think that people lugging horses around would have to be careful about bumps in the road to avoid spooking them.

But then I thought: how fucking spooked would a horse be on a plane? Do you think they're afraid of heights? Would they go apeshit at the pressure changing - or even worse, would it kill them? Horses are some of the most fragile animals ever, if they sleep wrong their lungs fill up with blood. Something could happen like bubbles forming in their blood for all I know.

And what kind of plane would you use to transport them? It would have to be quiet, and it would have to be able to handle turbulence without spooking the horses too badly. Could you have handlers on board to calm them down and make the flight easier for them? How about restraining them, so they don't get hurt if the plane does hit turbulence?

Horses on a plane sound like a logistical clusterfuck.

My mum liked their revival album back when that launched. Rock or Bust is generally considered a turd though.

Brian Johnson had a decent enough run, and Back in Black is a pretty legendary comeback. But yeah, it's time to put that horse to sleep. One of the band members is dead, Brian Johnson sounds like a waste disposal system and the fact that they made it to the 2010's at all is a fluke at best. If rock fans want to keep pulling these geriatrics out time after time instead of investing in smaller bands and helping them get good word of mouth, then they can go out with the oldies.

For what it's worth though, you've still got folks like Alice Cooper and bands like Judas Priest who are putting out well received stuff. If they're still good, they're still good. But there's that, and there's a bunch of old has-beens banking on a name that hasn't been relevant for decades. Acts like that need to fuck off and make way for the new blood.
