okay, so... I came back to the piano room and it's unlocked with blood on it. The double doors to it had a message before hand saying it was *unlocked* even though I SWEAR I came through here before, like it's literally impossible that I didn't.

So, I really cannot conceive of what exactly I did to advance the game state. I'm baffled. There had also been an extra shiv monster in the hallway with the acid and gold metal. Maybe I missed it after killing the first one when you leave in the medal? Does that mean game advancement is tied to killing these enemies? I just do not know.

Okay, I'm... stuck. I got the golden sun using the acid and stuck it into the courtyard machine. No idea what else to do. The piano won't open and the basement generator doesn't do anything, Harry says he "doesn't know" what the valves are for (not that I do either). I really feel like I've been everywhere in the building though it doesn't help that I don't have a map.

Also I think this sums it up. Due to the value of people as human capital, it's in every individual's interest to increase their perceived value, which means cheating to keep a grade up. It's hard to see the university as a hallowed and sacred institution when you're paying thousands to go and the result you seek is employment more than enlightenment.

That was good, I mean daytime Silent Hill. The main enemies are literally cliff racers and it's pretty easy to tell where the spawn points of monsters are after having to run around for the keys.

I'm on Normal. Been using the pistol because anytime I try to use the lead pipe I end up getting hit anyway because it doesn't stun enough or something. Not sure if I'm playing 'wrong' or anything.

My initial impression was "meh," but I think this game's really jumped up now that I'm in the school. The way lighting is used is really effective. Haven't found any 'puzzle pieces' yet though, just going through halls killing the goons. The lack of inventory management makes a difference in how you play from Resident Evil.

RE1 didn't feel like a jump scare game at all to me. The fear was just surviving. I did play on highest difficulty so there were very few tapes. Every decision was life or death.

The first enemy you can defend against is a CLIFF RACER

not great first impression. The mutated animals aren't as scary to me as say humanoids. On Normal difficulty, not sure if I should just be gunning or if I need to use my knife. Noticed that creatures get downed but you dont stop hearing the static unless you curb stomp them
