He fell into despair after realizing that everyone but Chiaki was a remnant of despair, the very thing he hated most, and that Chiaki was the lone good guy.Also, this is why this would be my #1 favorite twist in the series - the whole time I thought Nagito just did a crazy thing because he was crazy, but he actually had a really sensible motive, and a REALLY good reason for plotting the crime EXACTLY as he did. I legit didn't expect that. |

I mean, the Chinese Zodiac happens to overlap with a lot of prevalent types of animals, and then dragons which, are you really surprised there's a fire type that seems like one?Also notably, the Chinese Zodiac overlaps with a lot of prevalent land mammals, and that's where fire types seem to draw most inspiration from, since they aren't usually aquatic creatures. I would say that Infernape and Emboar lead at least some credence to this theory since both of them do kind of have a chinese vibe going on, but it doesn't really feel like they continued that throughline to Fennekin/Delphox, and if they were doing this on purpose they definitely didn't start doing it on purpose until Infernape |

| Paratroopa1 04/26/20 6:42:37 PM #21 | The fire starter = chinese zodiac thing seems like a very large reach given that Cyndaquil and Fennekin really don't fit nicely into it Interesting to note by the way that hedgehogs are not rodents and porcupines are, but I dunno if strict taxonomy really applies here btw I'm pretty sure Charmander derives its name from the folkloric salamander, not the animal salamander (which isn't even a reptile, it doesn't make sense for charmander to be one) |

| Paratroopa1 04/25/20 3:43:17 AM #14 | I'm not sure I've seen too many people say it's the best game in the franchise, just that it's miles ahead of AAI1 (which you definitely seem to agree with lol), and that it's nearly as good as the original trilogy. I definitely liked it a lot - it definitely had a way more coherent and interesting story than AAI1 with more interesting twists, I really liked how every case tied together and why, and it had a lot of fun characters. |
