I like it a lot, but the things that it does amazingly (worldbuilding, creative puzzle solutions) are broken up by a lot of uninspired shrines, 'filler' exploration, and disappointing "main" dungeons. I mean, the focus on having a discovery around every corner makes it better than any other Zelda in some aspects... but as much as I like the world, I just think the narrative through-line is too broken up BY the world and how underwhelming the Ganon fights are compared to overworld 'boss' monsters. BotW 2, however, has a very real chance of fixing all that! BOTW2 needs to get rid of a 3rd of those shrines in favour of more traditional dungeons and bring back mini bosses not lazy copy pasted ones of the same ancients. I got sucked in a little bit again now, I just start the game thinking "I don't really want to play, but I feel I should at least finish it" and then at some point I'm actually exploring around forgetting the time a bit. It's a strange love-hate thing I have with it. However, it'll never be a top Zelda game for me as well-crafted as most of it is.
