Depends on the topic. Like you'll have different recs for modern politics vs. history, etc.

I'm a historian so I'll play to my strengths and recommend Transgender History by Susan Stryker and How Sex Changed by Joanne Meyerowitz. Also Peter Boag has some really interesting stuff on trans people in the 1800s -- "Go West Young Man" is a really great article that he expanded into a book recently.

From what I hear from one of my friends (who has worked for both Denham and Harder), it's either corrupt or just enough of a shitshow out here that we're not ever going to get a number for outstanding votes. It'll just eventually be "wup there's the last of em", probably in like a week. <_<

Tifa used to be really, really strong (arguably our #10 for a while) and might not have fallen off as much as other FFVII.

I live in a pretty conservative area of California (more conservative than the nation on average) and even then it seems like there aren't many republicans around, at least ones roughly my age (20s-30s). The typical young conservative won't call themselves a Republican because of the implication; they'll say they're non-political, a non-voter, a centrist/independent, a libertarian, or a "fiscal conservative" (and I'm friends with a good number of people like that).

But Republican social policies are poisonous among people in that age group. And honestly it's pretty fuckin obvious why.
