It's weird cuz they made the exact same mistake with Brawl of blowing their load too early. That game's roster is tbh kind of incredible but IIRC they ended on fucking Toon Link and Wolf or some shit.

Then they seemingly learned for Smash 4, but now we're back to the same weird inability to manage hype that they had with Brawl.

Looking at the WoL trailer again, Dark Pit's wings are glowing blue so he's indeed using Palutena's power there. It would be green for Viridi and purple for Pandora/flying under his own power (in theory).

Mewtwo probably is too, even if not hes top 10 along with Lucario, Greninja is sixth gen and a top 30 popular Pokmon which is insane since sixth gen. PT is main character. Pichu maybe? I dont consider Pilachus prevo generic, but you might.

I'm not sure where you and he are getting this from. You'd think the differing receptions to Brawl and Smash 4 would prove that, yes, a handful of different fighters does significantly change some peoples' satisfaction with the game. You don't have to think it's logical to understand that it exists.

This matchmaking is sooooo much better, assuming there will be enough people playing you'll actually get matched with people who have the same or very close preferred rules. It's really close to what I had in mind actually.

They also have to be nearby so the connection isn't crap.

idk I'll believe it when I see it. I feel like they're gonna patch an "only use my preferred rules" option in pretty quick.
