There's nothing wrong with being dependent on oil so long as you have the means to do so. You can thank Trudeau Sr. for us not having enough refineries for that to happen. Instead we sell low to the US and buy back high. What a great plan! The economic collapse in 2014 through 2015 was due to the Saudis flooding the market with oil once the price of shale started to increase. When you live in a country where you can toss a stick and hit oil, you have the power to do so, I guess. Still would be nice to have those extra refineries. Now the cost would be billions instead of millions, however.

The only thing good I can say about Trudeau, since I feel I have to because he's so bad, is that he reversed a Conservative law that made it almost impossible to get your girlfriend, common-law or spouse PR. Now if you're married that person gets it immediately. Even Japan grants PR on marriage. I guess they have less people than Canada does abusing that law to get people citizenship followed by bringing the rest of their family over and finally divorce. The difference between a country other people respect and a country other people don't.

And there's really only one "group" I don't care for, and they've done it to themselves with a large portion of my country because of their own bigotry towards other groups (plural) of people of this country. Not to mention the PM is in bed with them. But I don't think it says 261 at the top of this page so that's all I'll say.

The first thing I'll do when I get to Japan is find a job where I have to do a lot of talking to customers knowing that my knowledge of the language probably isn't good enough to do so. I will post the results shortly after.

If one has been stalking me long enough to know I don't agree with the amount of people my country grants visas to, then one would also know that the reasons are more valid and personal than 'They can't speak my language so they mess up my order.'

They're usually pretty good. They forgot plum sauce one time when I asked for it and the owner drove it over almost right away. I usually check fast food right away so I don't have to go back. Living in a city where there are only four BKs and 1.3M people you learn fast because making the twenty-minute drive one-way to get fries or bacon put on sucks.

So it eventually shows up and I'm wrapping presents. I don't like my food piping hot anyways, so I let it sit there in the bag while I finish. Open up the container, the ginger beef is missing and it's loaded with chow mein and five breaded prawns. And she still charged me full-price for it.

No, but some of the older generation are. Most now view internationalisation as essential and are quite welcoming.

The problem is that while most foreigners adapt well to the culture, small groups refused to integrate and complain that things are different or worse to their own country. This jingoistic attitude and refusal to adapt to the way of life is what causes tensions between groups in the society. It isn't racism that is on display, more anger that a minority is refusing to even try and fit in.

basically a large percentage of immigrants who move the the US

I was describing the behaviour of Americans in Japan. They are the group who cause the most problems. Many of the ones I have had to deal with have come across as stuck up, jingoistic and utterly obnoxious. Their superiority complex and lack of social graces is why I have a little respect for US culture, as I now firmly believe American culture preaches a superiority above others, and this is just wrong.

In my time, I've seen;
Americans refuse to bow, play music on their iphones on the quiet carriage of the shinkansen and punch a conductor when they complained.

Americans who refuse to bow to anyone sighting "I only bow to Jesus".

Constantly being late and making excuses. Never taking personal responsibility.

One pissed out of our office window located in a high rise building.

One keyed a bosses car.

When I first came to Japan I was a teacher. One idiot stole our school register and started calling teachers and students out for dates. Naturally he was fired.

I had one guy refuse to obey the traffic laws and used to cycle on the wrong side of the road saying crap like "They've gotta learn" and then crashed into a police car. I had to go and apologize on our company's behalf for his behaviour.

One coworker told me about how one American was using the office to have sex with. He had been caught in the action when the manager came in after noticing the light was on at night.

My former boss told me about how one got into a drunken brawl with a policeman. This happens often.

There are but a few of my extensive experiences dealing with Americans here.

I've only met a couple I actually care for myself. You're not wrong in your first paragraph.
