When that happened before, Norton never popped up and I ran malware bytes and nothing was found

Norton has been awful for a long time and Malware Bytes doesn't scan for a lot of things including viruses. It's good at what it does, it just doesn't look for everything like some people think.

Honestly, it pisses me off. I love the historical period and Ragnar Lodbrok is one of my favorite semi-historical characters, but Travis Fimmel is awful and all the dialogue is so fucking modernized it's weird. It also falls into the same soap opera cliches continually.

Honestly, The Last Kingdom is a much better series about the same time period.

Well good thing he's dead now right?

The Last Kingdom is so underrated. I hear less about that than I do Vikings. The newest season imo is the best one yet.

I'm not quite at your level yet, but yeah, since my recent promotion my job is much more tolerable. I'm in and out a lot and pretty much set my own office hours. I supervise two people who hold the same type of job I held just a year ago and I can definitely see the difference in flexibility.

I've only been here a few months so I'm still testing out what I can and cannot do, but so far I've been enjoying the freedom a lot more. Upper management has already expressed an interest in promoting me from within once a position opens up in their area.

The flexible work hours at this job has eliminated my feelings of burn out that I would normally get every 6 months or so.

It's cool you get to manage people. I wish I could do that for the experience. Though I think I've decided against getting into management in the future and stick to some hyper technical position that allows me to work from home full time.

I work in a relatively open office. There are walls here and there, but typically each department sits in desks that aren't walled off from each other.

Does it bother people to not be able to have a conversation without everyone hearing what you have to say?

That's what bothers me the most about the idea.

Our corporate office actually has white noise playing in the background, so it's actually a bit difficult to hear other people's conversations at normal levels unless you're sitting relatively close.

I had forgotten about the white noise thing until I bought some noise canceling headphones and heard the difference with them on/off.

Same. One time the intercoms with the white noise went down and it felt uncomfortably quiet in the office.

The real world is absolutely miserable, it's where passion goes to die.

Harsh dude. Are there not opportunities in your field though that are more challenging and creatively fulfilling? I've seen other posts where you described your current place of employment and a change might do you some good

I've noticed that to get to the "fun" work in a particular field, you first have to suffer through years of entry level crap like clear mentioned. You're doing routine work that isn't fun, but merely dictated and you are working with other people who are unmotivated and unwilling to learn.

Once you rise the ranks long enough either through promotion or vertical advancement by job hopping, you are usually given more flexibility in projects you want to work on and how you do them. The downside to that is that those promotions typically also involve other aspects of the job you probably don't want (i.e. budgeting, HR, compliance and reporting). So you are doing the parts of the job you always wanted to do, but now you are working 60+ hour weeks to get everything else done that comes with it.

To make matters worse, in an effort to cut costs, companies continue to consolidate positions, so you are either stuck as a specialist doing one task repeatedly with no deviation, or a generalist where are you are doing 3-4 jobs in one for the pay of just 1 job. It's pretty rough.

Basically what I wanted to say to @clearaflagrantj

Entry and mid level positions are often dull and repetitive. Gotta keep learning, job hopping, and climbing upward. I'm in my 9th year of IT and I'm finally starting to see the light at the end of the awful job tunnel. Current job gives me 25% of the workload my previous jobs have given me, pays me 30% more, and lets me come and go from the office as I please. Work is much less soul crushing when you know you're not forced to be at your desk for a set amount of time.

It's more common in the IT/engineering world. My current office has some open office aspects to it. Our building is basically one big room. Our engineers have long tables where they sit side by side, some of us have big open cubicles, there are a few offices and conference rooms peppered along the walls.

I think fully open office layouts are horrible but integrating some ideas into the standard workspace to create a hybrid situation is a wonderful idea.

Tony Hawk 4 took some stuff from it, and thats why Tony Hawk 4 is the best one too

Yup it did a lot of things first that Tony Hawk and other games would later borrow from it.

- In order to increase your stats, you'd have to practice your skills. Rather than collecting stat icons throughout the level like you would in Tony Hawk, you'd have to grind in order to collect XP for your grind Stat.

- Completing goals would change the layout of the stage.

- No timer to stress about. Just chill out and skate.

Game is really underrated. Similar to Dave Mirra 2, it did suffer from later goals being extremely difficult.
