It's probably not an exageration to say most modern western music was built on his shoulders whether intentional or not.

I'd say that's a massive exaggeration. He's amongst the most technically skilled guitarists of all time and he innovated lots of guitar tricks like controlling feedback and stereo phasing, but in terms of actual writing music he was just playing variations on existing blues rock for the most part.

I've been replaying both the GBA and DS Advance Wars recently on my phone. They play absolutely beautifully, and the turn-based gameplay means that the virtual dpad isn't any sort of hindrance.

Yeah this, pretty much. When you go see a concert, or a stage musical or whatever, you're getting to see a unique performance of it only for you on that room on that night - and even if it was recorded you can't recapture the atmosphere and "energy in the room" of being there. Magical.

Eh, I'd rather good games got to be played by the widest audience possible, even in they have to be modified somewhat.

It's part of the reason i wish Nintendo would just go third party - I wouldn't have to buy a whole extra system each gen for like 8 games, and those amazing games would get a much wider audience to enjoy and appreciate them.

I mean, retro enthusiast coders still make limited numbers of physical carts of new games for things like the NES...

Galaxy S9 as of a few weeks ago when I got my upgrade.

Runs a lot of GameCube games very well on dolphin, so I'm enjoying the novelty of a portable GCN at the moment and playing things like Super Monkey Ball and Paper Mario again.
