I looked in GMUN's archive by searching "Avenatti" and I only found maybe 1 or 2 people in this topic series expressing what could be interpreted as uniformly positive opinions of Avenatti in the time period between now and July 23, 2018. (Those two were GMUN and Rock, for the record)

There were a few posts to the tune of "He's generally credible but I don't like the way he does things [in reference to his media grandstanding]", which I am not counting here.

Lee Sin would be a worthy winner. He's got a great character design and was also one of my favorite champion designs from a gameplay standpoint even if I personally was awful with him.

Within my first hour of FFVII I got stuck for 30 minutes because I couldn't figure out how to get out of a room. I couldn't tell that the exit door to the room was actually door due to the graphics.

I quit due to a combination of my friends stopping and getting an actual job. I wouldn't say I stopped liking the game though.

Matches definitely took too long though. I will say the existence of the ARAM mode kept me playing league for about 6 months longer than I would have otherwise, since those games were shorter and less stressful.

I mean I think if you liked Railgun you would also like Index. I don't think one is significantly better than the other overall. Though I would say Index is more consistent while Railgun has higher highs and lower lows.

Unfortunately I can't actually answer your question, having not read the Railgun manga. Even looking up what arcs it likely covers I'm not 100% sure, as it appears to happen concurrently with some important stuff from the Index side.

For the Accelerator anime, my guess would be that you'd almost definitely have to watch at least one particular arc of the Index anime to understand what was going on, assuming they don't also just put it at the beginning of the Accelerator anime despite the manga evidently starting afterwards.

Updated ranking of stuff I'm watching from this season.

Bloom Into You and Bunny Girl Senpai are both really good romance shows. Bloom Into You in particular has some of the best characters I can think of from a romance anime, especially after this most recent episode. I'm really excited to see where this goes next.

There's a pretty big gap between #3 and #4 here. Index 3 is kinda bad, which is really unfortunate. I'd be a lot more down on it if not for the fact that I was already attached to the characters. It feels like it's just a sequence of events with all the context behind those events taken out because there's too much to adapt or something, and the result is just...well...bad. (I never watched this, but I've been seeing comparisons to Tokyo Ghoul Root A in the reddit threads.) I can hope that it was just a problem with the chaos of this most recent arc being really hard to adapt, but well I'm not optimistic. The first arc of S3 was not great either for similar reasons and should have been very straightforward to convert to an anime it seems like. I will say though the most recent episode of this did have some good stuff and was by far the best of S3.

Zombieland Saga is a better anime than I give it credit for, but it's fighting an uphill battle because this concept for a show is not one I naturally take to at all.

Decided to drop Iroduku. It's not the worst anime I've seen by any stretch of the imagination, but it's gotten to the point where watching it feels like a chore and I just don't feel like doing it anymore.

Also yes Vivi is the best. Legit top 10 character in the game I don't even care.

Tomoya's reaction to his father being imprisoned followed by his proposal to Nagisa got me just enough to register the counter. Bittersweet relationships between fathers and sons have always resonated with me for personal reasons (although my relationship with my dad was never bad. It just never was what I wanted it to be).

Yoshino's backstory almost got me, but I narrowly avoided it.

This might be my favorite part of the anime. Either this or the end of episode 18.

Do any of you have republican friends?

Most of my college friends were Republican and were reasonable people, which is why I sometimes get up-in-arms about characterizations of all Republicans. That being said I have no idea what their views are during the Trump era and have actively avoided discussing it with the few I'm still in contact with.

Most of my mom's family was Republican for a long time. The majority of those are deeply opposed to Trump, though one branch has gone completely on board with Trump.

Trump, as chief executive elected by the American people, has an obligation to the American people to be transparent about what's happening in the country and the way he's running it, in this instance by fairly and reasonably submitting himself to questioning by the press. Intentionally acting belligerent and confrontational and then banning reporters from further questioning after the exchange inevitably escalates is not in line with that obligation. To clarify one point, I am saying that Trump was far out of line long before you're claiming Acosta started acting unprofessional (which might not be a claim I would dispute, in fairness).

Corrik, the fact that Trump is not the first person in all of human history to attempt to manipulate and destroy freedom of the press does not make it ok for Trump to also do that. Also most (not all, admittedly) of those appear to be more mundane criticisms and not a component of a full-fledged campaign to dismantle the free press, as is the case with my accusations of Trump.

Edit: And likewise, Dems hypothetically making incorrect predictions does not imply a "red wave". It's either a red wave or it isn't, and what people's predictions were don't really matter in terms of whether or not this was a wave election.

Caught up on the currently airing episodes of Index Season 3.

Just going to say...I haven't been liking this as much for whatever reason. It sort of feels like they're just kind of "going through the motions" here, and just the episodes we've gotten so far have felt really incohesive. What I suspect is actually the case is that they're trying to adapt more content and so it's being severely rushed as a result, but yeah.

The fact that this arc effectively introduces 4 new factions and 15 new characters in the span of a single episode really isn't helping here. Ok technically one of these groups is not new if you've watched Railgun, but even if you've seen them before it still doesn't help in sorting out what their goals and how they fit into this arc.

This is actually something that pisses me off about Americans in general. Like it's not your place to try and bully me into voting any more than it is your place to bully me into voting for a particular candidate. No one in this topic was doing this that I saw, but it's something I've observed from multiple places in the real world.

For the record, I voted in this election but did not vote in the past 4 or 5 for which I have been eligible. I also still maintain that voting is actually an irrational decision because the time cost associated with learning about the candidates and actually voting is more significant to me as an individual than the benefit of getting my 0.0001% of a say (or whatever) in who gets elected.

The only reason I even voted this time is because I hate Trump enough that even with minimal research I can say with confidence that voting against his agenda is the right decision for me.

I voted at around 8 this morning and didn't have to wait at all.

Parking was a pain though because I swear they could not have hid the lot to this building better if they'd tried. You basically had to turn onto what looked like a park trail as opposed to a real road in order to reach the lot, and there were no signs or anything.

Index Season 2 beated.

There were a few dud arcs but this was mostly pretty great. I will say that was a bit of a weird stopping point if they didn't know they were getting a season 3. And since this aired like 7 years ago I'm guessing they didn't at the time, but whatever.

Also everyone who said Accelerator gets better further in the story was totally right--this dude is awesome. Easily second best character in the series at this point if not #1, though I think Misaka still has him beat for now? Gonna be totally honest and say I expect that's going to change as Accelerator gets more content, if it hasn't already.

Full ranking of the different arcs in the series (including Railgun), because I feel like it:

Index Season 2 Episode 20

Every time this show tries to convince me it's just a one-trick pony, it comes back with a strong arc to prove me wrong. I don't know why they can't make every arc this good, but whatever at least some of them are fantastic.

Anyway I'm only halfway through it, but the Academy City Invasion arc is really fucking cool. So far the best arc since the Sisters arc without a doubt. Between Accelerator getting beaten to a pulp and all the stuff with Vento of the Front you immediately know this is a no-nonsense arc. I also like that pretty much all the major players are involved and they've got a couple different plot threads going on at the same time. Also Accelerator is great.
