Hitler's rise stemmed from unfavorable terms at Versailles, which stemmed from the United States tipping the scale in WW1, involvement which stemmed from outrage over the Zimmerman telegram, which threatened mostly states that had been claimed by the Confederacy, which likely would not have had the same economic power for an intervention in Europe of the same magnitude - let alone the same capacity for munitions manufacturing for sale to the Allies which earned the ire of the Central Powers in the first place - never mind neighboring a potentially hostile north with a significant German-American population which would have caused the Confederacy to think twice about spreading itself thin by getting heavily involved in a conflict overseas. --- |
