Just checked. I offered 5 / 45 / 13.5. And I'm pretty sure I worked out the 13.5 based off of KCF saying in past 30% was usually the most max you could offer and we weren't allowed to outright say max in the offer. I guess I could have tried to cheat the system and offered blatantly over what the max allowed was

So it was all in the guarantee then. I think I offered 9m per year and like 2 or 2.5m guaranteed

I have 7 year contracts. I feel this is not the first time I've lost out because 7 year deals exist and players value them more. But maybe Stan just offered a lot more too

Lynching unscanned vanilla is the right play but not if you think your target is a mislynch. I at least hope it helps in the long run though

I think I bid 45m over 5 years so there's definitely the potential someone bid more but I wasn't sure how much I was willing to fuck myself over next year given my dead money already

Donk, if you are town and simply don't have any solid reads, why are you not on board with the no lynch option FD presented to give yourself more time and more information to try find scum?

Whilst I don't agree with the no lynch, I definitely think it was a discussion worth having. I don't like FDs reaction to nobody going along with it but again it's understandable that he could get frustrated when he thinks it's the best course of action and nobody agrees with what he says. It is anti town to throw his toys out of the pram for the day but it looks like that is borne out of frustration that he feels nobody is listening to him.

Also I'll tell you what I really don't like. Where is Newdonker? Put under pressure he has disappeared

I don't think a no lynch makes sense if you think there's even 1 scum amongst the unscanned vanillas

If we no lynch and both scanners are town, then presumably one of them dies tonight. That leaves the remaining scanner a 1 in 3 chance of hitting scum. If they hit, great! If they don't then you are left with a 50/50 between the remaining 2.

If we go for a lynch today, we have the same 1 in 3 chance of lynching scum. Again if we do, great! If we don't and we are in the same scenario scanner wise then the scanner has a 50% chance of hitting scums but even if they don't, that leaves the unscanned person as very likely scum. The only way it backfires is if scum have a godfather amongst the unscanned and MI scans them. Or if there's no scum amongst that group of 3.

From what I can gather people would trade 1 for 1 if a scanner is scum and causes a mislynch. This isn't quite the same but It's similar. No lynching today doesn't guarantee we catch scum tomorrow. Lynching today, even if we are wrong, has an extremely high chance of us nailing scum tomorrow.

Of course for me the odds are different because I'm amongst the 3. So statistically that makes no lynch even less appealing

I do see where FD is coming from though. He doesnt trust the scanners so wants the information from the night to work with. If you think Death is scum, which can't be discounted, then seeing if he lives through the night provides more information to work with.

Zam - the correct choice for lynch today. The underpinning perspective that carries across his posts reeks of scum.

Prof - not a terrible choice, but he's not in the same category as zam. Prof seems scummish, but zam just seems scum. That said a prof lynch is not underserved.

Chris - if scum it would be an incredible d1 lynch. But if town we are just saving scum the effort and executing their n1 kill during d1. I don't have a confident enough read to commit to that kind of risky play, not with much better options available.

Sceptile - made some not great posts, but honestly has not played enough today. More posts pls.

Anyone else notable for me to discuss before i leave until day end? My vote is staying on zam regardless.

Ok so what am I missing? I understand why people feel MI is suspect. What I don't understand is why Death has not really come under any scrutiny?

Death claimed a scanning role when it was already being discussed that there was potentially too much scanning. He came in with 2 scans but could not scan again until Night 6. This was just accepted and from what I can see nothing confirms his scans at the time of claim. We now know at least one of those scans was reliable.

I guess the point I'm getting at is what is preventing Death from being a scum scanner? Do we know for sure he scanned Shad N2 and Corrik N4? How do we know that he didn't scan Corrik N2 and Shad at some other point? I need to go check but how did he react to Corrik and Shad days 3-4?

Or are we just giving him a pass and saying 'Well if you're alive tomorrow we have a problem'.

You said 2 out of the 3 Deadpool town reads were likely scum (Corrik, Chris, Crescent). So basically you thought Crescent/myself was scum given information already known and your previous posts. You then say that hinges on Fool's flip and if Fool flips town it's moot. Why would a Fool town flip clear Crescent/myself?

Aren't you a newer player though? How well do you know game balance to be making calls on player split early Day 2 when there wasn't that much information available? Maybe it's newbie enthusiasm but that looks suspect to me, especially given your inactivity, unless you already knew that information.

You completely forgot about a read you had towards the end of the day? Even though you had focused hard on your previous scum candidate all game who then died immediately after this? Again this looks suspect to me. Your only previous scum candidate just died, why would you not immediately go look into Sceptile/Colzach at that point who was your freshest read?

You have been non-committal to everything outside of Zam who you went after hard. And then when you actually flag someone else for something you perceived as scummy, you didn't go after them at all and forget about it even though you now had no leads after Zam died.

I only have 1 days worth of data so far but I like Sceptile more from that than I liked Newdonk. Couple of things stand out that I like.

His Day 1 activity already matches Newdonk's activity the entire game.

Scept went after the prime lynch candidates all day and was on them early rather than late. We know both Chris and Deadpool flipped scum. Chris also pushed hard for a Sceptile lynch when there was Chris, Deadpool and Zam as lynch candidates. Does scum Chris really push for a Sceptile lynch given the list of lynch candidates and what we now know about their flips? Han also votes Scept late at the end of the day and only switches to save Chris. Does scum present a third scum lynch candidate to save the other two when Zam is already right there and there's also talk about lynching an inactive? I don't think they do

Chris also gives a scum list of Sceptile, Han, Deadpool. Would he give a list of all scum? I haven't played mafia in a long time but when I last played Chris was stated to be one of the best players. So maybe he does as a gambit? I just think it's unlikely.

I did find it interesting that FD highlighted towards the end of the day that Sceptile has not played enough and needed to post more. From what I can see, Sceptile was one of the more active Day 1 players. That doesn't look good on FD to me.

Foolmo, Im not scum, but i agree that a single NL makes a good amount of sense. I l feel like your flip is worth more than the actions themselves though. Especially since your claimed power is so weak that the chances of you observing something meaningful at night is next to nil. Id rather have the front loaded knowledge from your alignment.

What exactly do we get out of his flip compared to the other scanners though?

Whilst Foolmo's abilities looks the most out of place in those 4 roles, his flip provides the least information out of those 4 if he does flip town I feel. The only caveat to that is that not lynching Fool would run the risk of tomorrow being a repeat of today. Are we lynching him because we feel he's scum or are we lynching him to try get information to work with? Because if it's the latter I'm not sure why we are targeting Fool out of that cluster. If it's the former then obviously we always lynch scum and it's a different story

I really think we should be looking at vanilla claims rather than scanner claims. Scanner roles are going to provide more information tomorrow to work with. Vanilla we are relying on the scanners to help us out with more because nobody seems to be really digging into the vanilla claims right now. There's also the potential that vanillas are overlooked again if Fool flips town too

Following up on the Han + Shad scumbuddies thing Scare posted. It looks like the only people to vote on Shad that I can find are Han and Arti. Arti just the once and Han multiple times.

Did anyone else pressure or suggest Shad as scum prior to Scare bringing it up yesterday because the votals seem to suggest not.

That doesn't detract from the fact that Scare's main scum culprit was Foolmo though.

Is there any particular reason Foolmo had to/wanted to hammer yesterday? Looks like he tried to and then was 1 vote short, someone else was asked to hammer and then Foolmo ended up hammering anyway.

I'm not sure if Scare made a scum list prior to that but that pegs Scare's scum reads firmly as Foolmo followed by Shad and then Col.

If you are town and we mislynch our way to Day 7, where would a Day 7 mislynch of you put us? Because with the suggested game balance, that puts us in an awful place.

Would you really be willing to let us still lynch you Day 7 in that scenario if you're town?

The problem I have with this is that you are pushing for town to kill you Day 7 when there's claimed power that could clear up your claim.

He's more scummy to me and at this point it's equally likely that I'll scan the godfather as the not-godfather so I can't trust any inno scans unless the GF flips.

Unless you're very confident he's the godfather though, that reduces our odds in the long run. If he flips town, it leaves less confirmed town scans to work if you flip cop or someone else flips godfather.

Statistically it seems better to look at unscanned vanillas as it gives us more information with a new scan plus a flip

Can I also get a list of scans/targets from our claimed powers? I can deduce some of it from what has been posted in this topic but I'm sure some others will take some heavy digging to find so it would save me time.

I don't know what Crescent was thinking whilst she was playing but it was likely to try draw scums attention at night if she tried to suggest that she was a bodyguard that early in the game. Better to draw a target as vanilla than have a power role die

I've played in 3 games previously. A newbie one that is likely unrecorded. Guild wars and Bioshock are likely recorded on the archive. But this will be my first game in a few years.

I've followed the game a little bit but there's definitely large chunks I will still need to read.

I think the game is trying to get me to buy Shea. I now have her UW twice and UT once. I just can't see how she would be usable for anything though
