Basically all the characters are different and/or flanderizations of their character. It's best if you watch the cartoon without expectations of how the game counterparts are supposed to act. Eggman = Is a doofus with a brain. Sonic = Lazy outside of combat and makes lots of wisecracks Tails = ...he's actually the least changed Amy = Independent hedgehog who don't need no Sonic...though she still has a very subtle crush on him. She can hold her own in battle. I'd try the other weapons.
