There have been modern games made in 8-bit style, and then those made in 16-bit style.

It's probably not done that often because early 3D doesn't age as well as sprite-based stuff...usually.

are there really modern games made in 8-bit style? I mean, even late NES games like SM3 and Kirby almost feel 16 bit, not that the distinction is useful per se but in terms of graphical style I associated the sprites of most modern games with the 16 bit era rather than the 8 bit
